Skaters rescue wild boars trapped on frozen lake

A group of skaters attempting to enjoy the fresh ice turned their outing into an animal rescue.

While out on an ice skating tour of Båven in Sweden, a group spotted four wild boars on the frozen water, unable to navigate the slippery ice. According to the Swedish nature website Natursidan, the group believes that the boars were trapped on a small island, and when they ran out of food, they attempted an escape to the mainland but were unsuccessful.
