Isn’t it interesting that 250 years ago, Thomas Jefferson accurately described today’s modern legacy media? For the last five decades or more, much of the legacy print and broadcast media have sold out to the socialist Democrat Party.

This suffices with the mass of the people who have no means of distinguishing the false from the true paragraphs of a newspaper." ~ Thomas Jefferson
It was easy to tell, because these legacy media outlets always reported favorably about Democrat initiatives and negatively about Republican initiatives. And we can’t forget the legacy media’s 90% negative coverage of Donald Trump for the last 12 years.

The legacy media has been very good at supporting socialist Democrat efforts to try to keep the American people in a state of complete ignorance. For many years it worked pretty well, until the internet and non-traditional media raised its ugly head. An ugly head only from the perspective of America’s enemies.

The legacy media started its drift into falsehoods during the Vietnam War. Until then, most news commentators presented the news in such a way that one could not determine their political proclivities. In the 1960s my father always suggested they were a bunch of right wingers.
Walter Cronkite was the first to start openly “leaning left” on the air. His legacy is that today’s legacy media has been so blatant in their bias that Americans are no longer buying into the obvious lies being perpetrated in print and on the airwaves. The legacy media has abandoned itself to falsehood. Current subscription rates and television ratings attest to the truth of these words.

What has come to be crystal clear in the last four years is that the legacy media has been believing the socialist Democrat lies as well as each other’s lies. Nearly every day it is as if the legacy media got their talking points from a single source. Their reporting is eerily the same. Are they too dumb to modify talking point releases?

JFK nailed it. The legacy media has fallen into the same trap as so many of the Democrat minions:
Simply accept the “party line” without applying any common sense. These minions are well trained, most being the product of the Left’s twisted education system. Sadly, this is a system that taught students what to think, not how to think. Evidence demonstrates that the legacy media is packed with “news readers” who avoid the “discomfort of thought.”

In 2025, Twain’s words apply to every place in the legacy media. Although in Twain’s time there were probably more mistakes than the intentional misinformation we see today. Based on the reporting I see by the legacy media, they regurgitate information as if they have all the answers.

For the last 100 years, the legacy media has been trying to get Americans to buy into the absurdity of human caused global cooling, then global warming, then cooling again, then warming again, and now generic human caused global climate change. None of the over 100 predicted fear mongering climate catastrophes has ever happened. It wasn’t until the socialist Democrats tried to sell Americans the concept of more than two sexes did Americans start to wise-up to the systemic and historic fear mongering. That was one too many absurdities for Americans to accept. Sadly, it was too late to stop the crimes against humanity promoted by the legacy media with the COVID responses and the similar crimes against children being mutilated because of the sex change absurdities.

With both the COVID response and the sex change issue, the legacy media was actively complicit in deceiving America and the world. The legacy media is just as guilty of crimes against humanity as were the government perpetrators of what was a fear mongering hoax to make thousands of people rich. As more and more facts reveal themselves, ideology and money drove the COVID response rather than real science. It was nothing less than criminal.

For more than 50 years, the truth has often been a stranger to the legacy media, and as a side effect of the DOGE efforts in government, the deception by the legacy media is being exposed along with waste, fraud and abuse within government. The complicity of the legacy media in the cover up of federal government corruption cannot be ignored.

The Founding Fathers created the First Amendment to the Constitution so that media could serve as a check and balance for the whole federal government. However, the legacy media has only served as a propaganda arm of the Democrat federal government. Thank God for the new media which is, in fact, proceeding as the Founding Fathers intended. The credibility of the legacy media has self-destructed.

After a 55 year career as a professional pilot in the military, in law enforcement, in the private sector, and in federal civil service, I am now retired.
In many of these positions I repeatedly took an oath to defend the United States Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.
