Tropical Storm Henri made landfall in Rhode Island early Sunday afternoon after it skimmed the eastern end of Long Island and spared New York a direct hit. The storm, which was downgraded from a Category 1 hurricane hours earlier, hit Rhode Island’s eastern coast near Westerly — about 25 miles north of Montauk, LI — around 12:15 p.m., the National Hurricane Center said. -- More...
