Turkophobia

Those who are pushing the EU to admit Turkey have not been paying attention. Just because Turkey has a foothold in Europe doesn't make it a European country. Germany, seething with Turkophobia, will veto Turkey's application for EU membership because it fears, with good reason, being overrun with Muslims. France, which has the largest Muslim population in Europe, would back Germany.

Britain,The Netherlands and Sweden are also having serious trouble with their Muslim citizens. The fact is Turkey is an Asian, Muslim nation, and that means it would be incompatible with the Christian European democracies. William Bedford, Toronto
