Toronto city council appears set this week to approve a U.S. firm’s proposal to move online a host of payments Torontonians make to city hall, despite objections to the deal from members of the local tech community. Missouri-based PayIt, via its new Canadian subsidiary, says it can replace 11 separate portals for property taxes, parking permits, parking tickets, water bills and more with one easy-to-use interface accessed via mobile app or computer.-- More...
