The Washington Post published an article entitled,” So What If Protesters Are Paid?” The paper says that protesters long have been paid, citing Rosa Parks as an example. Then it says it doesn’t matter, because it is ridiculous to believe that social movements should be spontaneous, volunteer-driven, and untarnished by the exchange of money.
