Boston Harbor, July 4, 1976…
The mid-1970s were the years when the Marxists had upped their game, working harder than ever to turn plain American youths into misguided progressives, demonstrating against anything and everything related to the “Establishment.”
Not completely immune to professorial influence, this liberal undergrad was still appalled at some of the pressurized instruction dispensed from the lectern. Raised by lifelong democrats to be loyal to the party, my parents were avid readers who instilled that love of the written word in all their children. For this, I thank God, because it meant that despite what professors espoused, the ability to critically measure their premises hadn’t been completely abandoned.
Perhaps, growing up working in the family business, learning a trade before heading off to college, kept my head screwed on straighter than others who fully succumbed to the rising level of nonsense being dispensed at university.
Uncertain about the rhetoric disparaging our nation, an unanticipated invitation came to accompany my boyfriend and his family to attend the festivities on Independence Day at Boston Harbor.
It was an experience that, on our nation’s 200th birthday, imbued my life with an appreciation for my home.
Amid the pageantry of the tall ships sailing into the bay, lit by the most extravagant fireworks spectacle I had ever viewed, the patriotic camaraderie among the vast crowd was awe inspiring. To this day, I have never encountered anything like it.
Having participated in such brotherly pride and love of country, the sky ablaze with flares of brilliant color, exploding one hue after another above the stately masts of clippers and schooners, this apathy toward our 250th anniversary is alarming.
What has happened to the United States of America in the short span of five decades?
What had begun during my foray into university life has come to fruition. The constant barrage of hate for our nation to which youngsters have been subjected since the 1960s has taken root. It is shameful that governors of failing states like Oregon, Illinois and Washington couldn’t even bring themselves to promote their homes at the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C.
The malady of hate has permeated too many (though still a fraction of the populace) residing in the USA. The march of Marxism through the public school system, which I experienced firsthand as a college instructor myself, has stripped out the core of awareness of the greatness that was planted on these shores by the unmatchable genius of our founders. Yet, they would have denied their own exceptional aptitude because they were wise enough to give God all the credit and glory for the concepts that the Declaration of Independence brought forth.
On the Third of July, 2026, one of the most despicable addresses emanated from the occupied office of Mayor of New York City. This Mamdani, a product of foreign abhorrence of all things American, had the gall to sit in the place of Mayor Giuliani and denounce the nation that gave him the freedom to utter such twisted, vile language regarding his refuge from third world poverty. He was surrounded by individuals who despise the soil on which they were standing.
Love of God and country is now hate of all that has been built in God’s name and by His grace. They invoke the word “love” but mean “hate.” That is how what is true is destroyed.
This is from the book, Wordmongers, that I will be releasing this summer. It is the tale, based on a true story, of how words, and God’s Word, have been and are continually being bastardized to turn a nation against itself, and a people against the one true God.
Mamdani had the mendacity to say “God bless America” while intending the exact opposite, working to sway oblivious listeners to loathe the nation that gave them the right to speak what they wish, even to the destruction of that right.
It is tragic that the wonder of harmony and goodwill, which I was blessed to witness in 1976, is shunned and despised by the miniscule but loud faction of the indoctrinated. Among them are gullible citizens, as well as illegal and resident aliens masquerading as citizens.
This is the 250th year since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. It’s long past time to tell the truth of our nation’s birth from the classrooms to the halls of government, and it’s our duty to be vocal in going about that business.
