Why Do Some Leftists Harass and Attack ICE and Other DHS Personnel?

I'm fascinated by how some leftists feel they can attack law enforcement officers with impunity, especially ICE agents and other US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) personnel.

The second Trump administration has made mass deportation a top priority, so much so that its opposition has crowds following DHS personnel out in the field blowing whistles, blocking roadways, boxing in vehicles, sending tow trucks and even grabbing suspects in custody during flagrant 'de-arresting' attempts.

I've never watched this level of aggression directed toward law enforcement. One need not be a 'bootlicker' (leftist/libertarian-ese) for police groupies to make this observation.

It hasn't escaped my notice this doesn't happen with other federal law enforcement agencies operating independently when not supporting deportation operations.

One reason is deadly force or other serious response to protesters trying to disrupt a US Marshals Service or FBI operation.

Leftists go to great lengths to de-legitimize ICE and the Border Patrol, which to me at least, means they consider these agencies major political threats.

Regardless of how vehemently one hates immigration enforcement, 'doxxing' and even attacking DHS agents and officers doesn't invalidate their right to arrest illegal aliens.

Last year, the second Trump administration activated the National Guard in several states to protect deportation operations and federal facilities, including immigration detention centers and courthouses.

Democrats who disagree on the time of day, ranging from well coiffed corporate liberals to grungy grassroots leftists nonetheless agree on de-legitimizing DHS personnel.

As a 'safety creator' whose stock in trade is assessing threats, it seems the left fears unchallenged mass deportation.

Where once they scoffed saying it's impossible they now scream it's unacceptable.

My guess is they fear mass deportation undoing special priority and promises made to migrants, mostly Latinos, whom Democrats have tied their political fortunes to.

Another suspected fear is dreading Republicans reaping rewards from voters opposing mass migration. President Trump's second White House victory opposing mass migration still has them reeling.

Democrats refuse to recognize any resentment felt by millions from all backgrounds.

Against this backdrop, is it any wonder some leftists harass and attack ICE and other DHS personnel?

Either they de-legitimize mass deportation or fear de-legitimization of mass migration.
