A dozen privately owned “smaller-size” buses went up in flames late Sunday beneath Interstate 280 in the Portero Hill area, the San Francisco Fire Department said. Firefighters extinguished the blaze in just under an hour and no injuries were reported.
“They look like they are abandoned buses,” that were stored on 23rd Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Iowa Street, said Fire Department spokesperson Capt. Jonathan Baxter. “But who knows,” he added, noting
that the investigation was just getting underway. Twelve buses were damaged in the blaze, he said. Some were fully involved in the flames and others partially burned. He characterized the vehicles as smallish privately owned buses. ---More...
