Are Reactionists Choking Off Reality?

Overreacting is one thing the left does well. By doing it, they make every “perceived” injustice seem worse than it actually is. Contrarily, they minimize every wrong they commit so they never appear to be as bad or in many cases as dangerous as they really are.

In another ridiculous case of the left overreacting, all the work on the new Nissan stadium was halted on Friday. The reason for this shutdown was because a noose was supposedly found somewhere on the construction site. The stadium is going to be the new football home of the Tennessee Titans. Work began in 2024 and is scheduled to be finished in 2027.

Really? You shut down an entire project because someone finds a noose? Remember the last time someone cried “Noose” it turned out to nothing more than a pulldown handle for a garage door. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department are the ones that reported that a noose was found on the construction site. The incident is currently under investigation by the Tennessee Builders Alliance, which is leading the construction of the stadium. Their spokesperson referred to the noose as a "racist and hateful symbol.”

Get this, According to WSMV4, the Tennessee Builders Alliance is offering a $250,000 reward for "information leading to the identification of the individual responsible" and that additional anti-bias training will now be required for all workers. The matter is being investigated by the MNPD's Specialized Investigations Division Detectives.

"There is no place for hate or racism in our workplace," read a statement by the Tennessee Builders Alliance. "... Work will resume only after a site-wide standdown focused on inclusion and respect. We are outraged and deeply saddened by this act.

"We are working in close partnership with our client, trade partners, and unions to ensure every worker understands that racism and hate have no place here. Everyone deserves to feel safe, welcomed, and treated with respect and dignity."

Oh, come on. Look, I hate racism as much as anyone, but by any standard, this is not only extreme, it’s extremely stupid. Shutting down an entire project until every worker has received further “Anti-Bias” training is simply overkill. If there actually is a noose, it may very well have been done as a joke to either irritate someone or to piss them off. Granted, if that is the case, it was done in very poor taste. Also, let’s not rule out the possibility that this entire thing is nothing more than a fake hate crime, orchestrated by a frustrated liberal looking to stir up trouble.

Nashville mayor Freddie O'Connell confirmed the investigation following a news conference on Friday morning. He expressed concern over the matter and referenced the city's efforts on workplace safety. The exact circumstances surrounding the presence of the noose as they relate to the construction workplace are currently unknown.(CBS Sports, July 17, 2025)

O’Connell told reporters:

"We've taken some steps, both with local policies, state policy, and partnership with them to try, again, to keep temperatures low and prevent hate incidents like this. It is very concerning, there is an open investigation. I know the Titans are cooperating with Metro Nashville Police and we’ll see what that investigation turns up."

The Titans had the first pick in this year’s draft, so they were obviously inept on the football field last year. Now their future home is being built under similar circumstances. That isn’t good Karma for them, or anyone involved in this silly overreaction.
