The 2025 Senate hearings on Presidential appointees is not a civilized proceeding; the Left has turned it into a blood sport

No; it’s more like children bickering in the school yard. That’s my impression of the Senate hearings for the Trump appointees. It is a shame the world gets to see America’s Senators behaving in such a childish manner.
“…and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors,, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for,…” Article II, Section 2 of the United States Constitution
For about the first 195 years of the American Republic, common sense prevailed and rarely, damn rarely, did the Senate reject a Presidential appointee. This was the major growth period of the United States of America. This was also during the time when America took over undisputed leadership of the free world. So, what happened?
What happened was that petty career professional politicians decided to use the “Advice and Consent” provision of the Constitution as a weapon against the opposition President. Both political parties have used this weapon. However, the socialist Democrats have perfected the use of this weapon to an art form in its pettiness and vitriol. In recent years the vile personal attacks on appointees has been staggering.
It was during the 1970s when the Derangement Syndrome first appeared with the extreme leftists. It had not been diagnosed or labeled yet. It started with President Nixon but seemed to have skipped President Ford. Once again, early episodes were seen with President Reagan, and it skipped President HW Bush.
Then as a result of the 2000 election, this hateful syndrome hit America full in the face with what was then called the Bush Derangement Syndrome. This, of course, was followed in 2015 with the Trump Derangement Syndrome.
This nasty, hateful, unforgiving behavior of the radical Left (mostly Democrats, extreme progressives, socialists, and communists) deserves to have the syndrome named after them, not after the target of the vitriol. In the 1970s, this was a minor disorder. Now in 2025 it almost becomes a diagnosable mental disorder because of the extreme hate associated with it.
Now, here we are in 2025, and the Democrat attack dogs of the Senate are putting on a disgraceful clown show that is shameful in the eyes of much of the American public. Those not ashamed are uninformed or are card carrying people who hate Trump and everyone associated with him. The 2025 Senate hearings on Presidential appointees is not a civilized proceeding; the Left has turned it into a blood sport. This is nothing like what the American Founding Fathers envisioned, and they would be dismayed to witness this spectacle.
