A succession battle at the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) deepened tonight when the deputy director of the CFPB fired a lawsuit to prevent President Trump's pick as acting CFPB director from taking office. The deputy director, Leandra English, claims she is the rightful acting director because she was appointed as successor by Richard Cordray, the CFPB director who recently resigned his post. But the White House says President Trump has the right to appoint a successor under the Vacancies Reform Act, and President Trump has appointed OMB director Mick Mulvaney as the acting CFPB director. How will this succession battle shake out? We have LIVE COVERAGE of the CFPB leadership crisis with Steve Lookner.
