Change the Human Heart

For those readers who have followed my writing, you know that I rely heavily on the wisdom of the Founding Fathers for direction. The advice of that collection of men and their entire generation reflects the wisdom of the ages. Sadly, human nature has never learned the lessons of their times and as a result we flawed human beings repeat the same mistakes of our ancestors since the beginning of time. Fortunately, our Founding Fathers addressed most of our human foibles and their wisdom is as applicable today as it was 250 years ago. Times change, technology changes, but human beings are just the same.

For the last 75 years the Democrats in America have been perpetuating a lie that guns kill. The truth is that never in the history of man has a gun killed anybody except when in the hands of a human being. Human beings have been killing each other since Cain and Able. Most murders throughout history, and even wars did not involve firearms. Guns, knives, ball bats, cars, stones, and poisons don’t kill people. People kill people and that is the only truth that matters.

I must digress for a moment about the socialist Democrat Party’s fixation on gun control, it isn’t about reducing violence. Violence is a tool of the Left including firearm violence. As evidence, I submit that violence, including gun violence, seems to be acceptable in major United States cities controlled by Democrats. Like all evil regimes of the past, getting firearms out of the hands of the people is required to allow the establishment of a socialist or fascist government. It is about power and control, which is the very reason the Founding Fathers gave us the 2^nd Amendment to protect ourselves from an evil government.

Gun control will not stop gun violence in America. Chasing the money supporting the socialist Democrat advocates for violence in America, though a good idea, will not stop gun violence in America. To reduce violence, including gun violence, requires the changing of the human heart. Nothing else will work. Judeo-Christian values must once again be fortified in America if real change is to occur.

I am going to be bold and disagree with Washington just a bit. I believe it is impossible to govern a FREE world without God. Even though there are many godless governments around the globe, the United States of America became the leader of the free world and the most successful nation on the planet because of our historic close adherence to the principles established by God as recorded in the Christian Bible.

George Washington’s statement is as valid today as it was 250 years ago. When prayer in schools was prohibited and the Ten Commandments disappeared from schools, we began a downward spiral into the cultural toilet we now find ourselves in today. With the election of Donald Trump in 2024 and more recent events, there has been an awakening in America to just how bad things have gotten in our society. We must not allow this to be the norm.

In 2021, Americans traded liberty for perceived safety. What we got instead was a tyrannical police state that tried to grab even more liberty to gain more power. Those efforts hardened the hearts of America’s ruling class and nearly destroyed what our forefathers willed to us. It now appears that the tragic death of Charlie Kirk has changed the hearts of people in America and the world over. I pray that what now seems to be happening is a resurgence of Christianity and Judeo-Christian values. That would be the greatest possible tribute to Charlie Kirk.
