Clinton campaign spokesman: The Obama-appointed Inspector General is just a Republican stooge

Clearly, the Clinton camp knows that its candidate is in some deep guano. If the investigation into her email server scandal had no "meat" to it, they'd employ their usual playbook and laugh it off. Hillary has a long history of chuckling at the "ludicrous" accusations thrown her way. In fact, she was doing so earlier in the year. As history shows, when the Clintons finally realize they can no longer mock their accusers into silence, they fire up the attack machine. It's sad, predictable, and clearly a desperation play, but it's what they know. It worked with the Lewinsky scandal, so they probably figure they can make it work again.

As a result, the "vast right wing conspiracy" is back. Only this time, the evil right-wingers in question are Obama appointees. According to Hillary's press secretary, Brian Fallon, the Obama-appointed Inspector General Charles McCullough is colluding with Republicans to destroy Hillary's "inevitable" Presidency. Asked during a CNN interview why he thought McCullough was a "stooge" for the congressional GOP, Fallon was happy to explain:

CAMEROTA: But the Inspector General isn’t a Republican. FALLON: Actually, I think this was a very coordinated leak yesterday. CAMEROTA: Why do you think he’s a stooge of the Republicans in Congress? I’ve heard you say that. What’s your evidence? FALLON: Because two months ago there was a Politico report that directly challenged the finding of this Inspector General, and I don’t think he liked that very much. So I think that he put two Republican Senators up to sending him a letter so that he would have an excuse to resurface the same allegations he made back in the summer that have been discredited.

First of all; the NDA that Hillary signed incinerates most of Fallon arguements:

Second; it's interesting that he doesn't bat an eye here. Fallon doesn't say something like "I wouldn't call him a stooge, but..." He's simply eager to explain why he thinks that Obama's own intelligence community Inspector General is a GOP lapdog. His attitude should tell you something. Hillary's people aren't trying to curry favor anymore. That makes one suspect they know how bad her situation is, and that "Barack's dogs" won't be called off. If they thought they could talk their way out of the investigation, the tone would still be as conciliatory as it's been all year. The fact that they're lashing out would seem to indicate that they’re very worried, and they've decided to take the gloves off in advance of a possible indictment. Remember, when Clintons start to get nervous about potential charges, they always respond by claiming that the charges are worthless because they're politically motivated.
