Dalton McGuinty’s gotten us into a financial disaster

I hope McGuinty is happy now that he has gotten our province into a financial disaster. I live in the most southern part of Ontario and we hate looking at the mass array of wind turbines. And most of us feel that we have been rooked. Unless you are a die-hard Liberal and make silly excuses as to how all this wind turbine fiasco is being played out at our expense. To top it off, his handling of funding to foreign students makes our blood boil as a taxpayer .... This man needs to exit politics . Did you know that Alberta changed their ratio to two apprentices to one journeyman in the electrical trade last year? Most ratios across Canada in the electrical trade is a one-to one ratio and even a one-to-two ratio. Ontario, and I believe Prince Edward Island, has the same ratios of one apprentice to three journeymen. If the unions think that this ratio is good for Ontario, why did they not try to change the other provinces to Ontario's ratio? I also heard once from a union representative that, as long as they had journeymen unemployed, ratios would not change. Did you also know that apprentices are registered to the union and not individual shops? Therefore apprentices go from job to job, working for different shops. In most non-union shops, apprentices are working for that individual company for a long-term commitment. That employer is investing time and money on this apprentice. Did you know that it cost approximately $150,000 to train an apprentice? This is a large investment for any company. Dan Racicot, Timmins, Ont. Read more:
