Hello! I would like to welcome you back to Miz Judi’s Kitchen. I’d also like to say thanks to each and every one of you for all your wonderful comments, recipes, and your helpful tips. Please keep them coming. As I was sitting around today, actually I was waiting for Josh, Shelly and their three boys to come down and visit, I got to thinking about how fast time goes by… this is why you should enjoy each and every day. I just can’t believe that Josh and Mark, our two sons are in their thirties.

I swear it seems like they were just babies. Josh our oldest, I have to say, was not one to get in much trouble, but, he would get Mark in trouble every chance he got! I have to say though, with Mark being Mark, that wasn’t too hard to do, for it sure did seem that trouble was just waiting around the corner for him, and they usually found each other “head-on” most of the time! Dub and I took them to the park one day, and those two were full of so much energy it was hard to keep up with them! We were out walking around trying to burn some of that energy out of them, and all of a sudden Josh just went to screaming and crying at the top of his lungs!. We took off running, not knowing what in the world possibly could have happened, because they were on the trail not 25 yards in front of us! Well, once we got to him, Josh was hollering and carrying on so, we couldn’t understand what was going on! We asked Mark did he have any idea what was wrong with his brother and he said he had no idea. Well, you have to understand these two were probably no more than, Josh I’m guessing was eight and this in turn meant Mark was five, so they were just little guys. Then Josh looks up and said Mark had hit him in the head with a stick! Let me explain to you, first off, I know boys will be boys, and when it comes to being brothers on top of that, well, you’re going to have some tussles between them. There’s going to be a fight from time to time. That goes with the territory. I draw the line though when one of them picks up a stick and clubs his brother over the head with it. That’s gone completely over the line, and I’m not about to tolerate such nonsense, not for one minute! I grabbed Mark by the arm, and asked him straight out what had happened? Well, like I said, little Mark stayed in trouble, and when he said I don’t know what happened, the Momma in me kicked in and I tore his little tail up! Josh knew all along Mark was in big trouble, but do you think he even let out a peep, knowing his brother was fixing to get his tail tore up? Nope! As soon as I whipped Mark, the whole time wondering what in the world possessed him to hit his brother with a stick, Josh started laughing! I couldn’t see straight I was so mad at Josh, and as soon as I started to him, he went to stammering, but Momma, I was just playing around with you! I grabbed that boy, and I did tear his rear-end up good. I had just thought about that episode again, as I was waiting on Josh and his family to stop by. It’s funny now, but wasn’t at the time. Actually, once in awhile through the years we have all talked about this, and everyone of us have laughed, so it does go to show that time heals all things, even brothers and mothers. They both now are Daddy’s in their own right, and I do believe they are seeing for themselves just what they put us through. But you know what? I wouldn’t change any of that for the world! I guess when you’re a parent or a grandparent, the most important thing to us, is when you see they grow up, and make fine young men and women. You know then, you’ve done your job and done it well. So in closing, Dub and I, along with Dub’s ex-wife Sandra, who by the way is simply one great person, have all done a great job, because we do have some fine young men and women, to go along with some great, grandkids! So till next time keep a smile on your face and one in your heart! May God Bless each and every one of you.

Dub and Deb——

‘Ridin Out The Recession With Dub and Deb in “Miz Judi’s Kitchen’!

Note to Readers: There are a few things that Dub doesn’t know but one thing he does know is that the word ‘Riding’ (as in Riding Out the Recession) is spelled with a ‘g’ at the end.  But Dub not only walks the walk, but speaks like he is: down home, true blue, and plain speakin’ country folk.

Dub and Deb are both native Floridians, live in Central Florida, and run a small business as well. They have five children, and seven grandchildren.

Both love to cook, love to laugh, grow a garden, and generally try to “aggravate” most anyone around them basically…all in good fun, of course!
