Hello, I’m Deb, and I’d like to welcome you back to Miz Judi’s Kitchen. I’d like to thank each and every one of you for all your comments, recipes, and all your helpful tips, please keep them coming. You know I don’t understand why kids get so bored these days. I remember when I was young we could always find something to do. But now they all seem to be involved with games on the computer, and even have their own phones. It’s almost as if outside just doesn’t exist anymore.

Now don’t get me wrong, I think kids should use, and spend time on the computer. I think it’s great, but I also feel kids should get outside and play more. They talk about kids today being overweight. That comes as no surprise to me, how about you? When I was little we always found something to do, and 90% of the time it involved being outdoors. Now what we ended up doing may not always have been the right thing to do, but normally, we stayed out of trouble (most of the time). What we did find to get into was all in good fun, and I guess with five sisters and a brother around, you could always find something to get into. Now on Saturdays, my Mama and Daddy always went to town. Back then they didn’t go to town like we do now. They made one trip, and it had last all week long. So one Saturday they took off on their weekly run, and left us kids at home with the oldest, knowing their “little angels” would be good. We couldn’t wait to see that old car pull out towards town! Well, the youngest kids, and me being the very youngest, thought it would be funny to pull a trick on our sister Louise. We could never figure it out why, but for some reason Louise was scared to death of little kittens, and still is to this day! The oddest part of this to all the rest of us was that around the farm we always had five or six running around! So armed with the knowledge that sister, Louise was so scared of kittens, just as soon as Mama and Daddy got down the road, we each grabbed us a kitten, and called sister outside! We had a big oak tree in the backyard and when sister came out, we all come running up to her, each one of us with a kitten in our hands! Louise went up that tree just like she was a cat herself, screaming the whole time. Every time she would try and come down, we’d put her right back up it! This went on all day long, her just a crying, and all the rest of us thought that was just too funny! Well it was starting to get pretty late, and we knew Mama and Daddy would be coming back down that road towards home at any time, so we kept a close eye out for them the later it got. When we finally saw Mama and Daddy’s car coming, we ditched them kittens, and let her finally get down out of the tree. We’d managed to keep her up that tree for nearly six hours, just by swinging one of them kittens at her every time she’d try to get down! When Mama and Daddy pulled up, we all went running to see them, because we knew they would have us a treat, but the funniest thing of all was that Louise didn’t come with us. Well, Daddy asked where was Louise? You see, we’d thought it was so funny that we went to telling them what we had done! If my memory serves me right, what I remember is that after telling Daddy what we’d done, it wasn’t nearly as funny to Daddy as it had been to all us. Needless to say, we had to wait on our treat till the next day, and were all put to bed early that night! All but Louise that is…Louise she got her treat and got stay up late too. Go figger? I must admit it…we sure did have some good times back then! Thanks for stopping by and God Bless each and every one of you! Deb Let me throw in a quick joke, that I believe all the ladies will get a kick out of! It came from our cousin Teri. Man driving down road. Woman driving up same road.
They pass each other. Woman yells out window, PIG!
Man yells out window, B@#$%!
Man rounds next curve.  Man crashes into a HUGE PIG in middle of road and dies.  Thought for the Day…”Men Should Listen!!”

Dub and Deb——

‘Ridin Out The Recession With Dub and Deb in “Miz Judi’s Kitchen’!

Note to Readers: There are a few things that Dub doesn’t know but one thing he does know is that the word ‘Riding’ (as in Riding Out the Recession) is spelled with a ‘g’ at the end.  But Dub not only walks the walk, but speaks like he is: down home, true blue, and plain speakin’ country folk.

Dub and Deb are both native Floridians, live in Central Florida, and run a small business as well. They have five children, and seven grandchildren.

Both love to cook, love to laugh, grow a garden, and generally try to “aggravate” most anyone around them basically…all in good fun, of course!
