At least one team in the National Football League (NFL) is doing it again after the kneeling scandal. It seems the NFL is proudly buying into the woke concept of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Let’s take a look at what that should look like if the NFL is going to immerse itself fully into DEI.
"The mark of an honest man... is that he means what he says and knows what he means." ~ Ayn Rand
If the NFL has said what it means and means what it said, then to meet the diversity and inclusion pieces means that every human subdivision, real subdivisions, and the made up subdivisions must be equally represented in the staffing of each and every team. Full diversity and inclusion must disregard competency and the relative value of a skill. The best the NFL teams can hope for under DEI is the best possible performer in each specific human subdivision. Personnel quality becomes secondary to what diverse human group the person represents.
Obviously, each team would have to divest itself of many very good players because there are only limited places to put people to meet diversity and inclusion requirements. Rarely would there be room for two people to be on the same team from the same human subdivision because of the number of woke approves human subdivisions.
If equity is truly a high value in the NFL, it has to be demonstrated by pay equity. An NFL team is more than just the players on the field. The team really encompasses every member of the corporate team from the office person (boy/girl) to the owners of the team. Every team member has his/her/they/them key place in the organization to assure overall team success. Equity then demands that each team member deserves equal pay to truly achieve equity.
For DEI to be truly embraced, there can be no premium placed on competency or skill from one team member to another. Meeting DEI requirements take precedence over all other traditional considerations.
The NFL hurt their bottom line by the mishandling respect for America, the National Anthem, and the American flag. What will the crowds look like in the stands when the players on the field are fully integrated with the diversity of people to satisfy the woke DEI requirements. I would suggest that the other sport, the rest of the world calls football, will need bigger stadiums.
Are these honest men, or is it corporate lying to trick the woke into buying more NFL tickets? I’ve placed my bet on the fact it is only NFL eye wash and they won’t really be going the DEI route. I predict the NFL will try to quietly slither away from this announcement as soon as they can or just have a few show ponies to look like DEI is a priority.
