Donald Trump announces his 2016 candidacy - yes, really!

"Sadly, the American dream is dead. But if I get elected President I'll bring it back. Bigger, better, and stronger than ever before." That's the word from billionaire real estate mogul Donald Trump who, just moments ago, announced he was running for President. I don't have much to add to his bombastic speech, so I'll simply say this. Whatever happens with Trump's candidacy, it was incredibly refreshing to hear someone who is unapologetic about their wealth and success.

2012 gave us a mealy-mouthed Mitt Romney who was constantly trying to shirk the fact that he was a well-heeled success story. It felt like he was always trying to deny his financial reality in a phony effort to be "just like you." Trump isn't doing that at all. As he put it, he's "the most successful person ever to run for the presidency, by far." He's famously claimed he has "a Gucci store worth more money than Romney." ...And I love that. To hell with the "wealth-shamers." It's about time SOMEONE decided to stand up and be proud of their own success. You're whining about "income inequality" because you're unsuccessful? Sorry. That sounds like a "you problem." He vowed to repeal ObamaCare, build a "great, great, wall" on our Southern border, and says he'll never be beholden to lobbyist money because "I don't need it." Here are a few quotes from Trump's speech, and a fifteen minute clip:
