Boston Bomber

Enemies within

U.S. law enforcement agencies emphasized the need to capture the second Boston bomber alive so they could interrogate him.

Why, then, one wonders, didn’t they just surround his hiding place until he either passed out or surrendered? (I believe that would have been the Canadian tactic). Instead of biding their time, the police (in full “Bonnie and Clyde” mode) peppered the boat, which they’ll have to replace, in which he was lying, with hundreds of bullets. The fugitive suffered multiple wounds, and just blind luck kept him alive for questioning. And seeing that it was a private citizen who pinpointed the fugitive’s hiding place, we should all keep our eyes and ears open. William Bedford
