Feds arrest Yona mayor, seizes computer hard drives

The FBI on Tuesday seized computer hard drives from the Yona Mayor's Office in addition to arresting Mayor Jesse Mendiola Blas, who has been indicted for extortion and other federal charges. The mayor is accused in a federal indictment of entering into an agreement with an informant posing as a drug dealer to receive bribes in multiple transactions including $15,000 in exchange for allowing or offering some of the village's postal cluster mailboxes for use in methamphetamine trafficking, according to documents at the District Court of Guam.-- More...
