First They Came For….

It has started in New York City. Mamdani is going after the landlords. Like all socialists, Mamdani is trying to weaponize government agencies against the citizens of his city. I am going to paraphrase a Martin Niemöller piece about how things went when the Nazis overran Germany prior to and during World War II.

• First they came for the landlords, and I did not speak out--Because I was not a landlord.
• Then they came for the grocery store owners, and I did not speak out--Because I was not a grocery store owner.
• Then they came for the people’s guns, and I did not speak out--Because I was not a gun owner.
• Then they came for my property--and there was no one left to speak for me. 

That is how it happens. Mamdani already has lawsuits filed against him by commercial grocery store owners in New York City. Socialism creeps in by a thousand little paper cuts by the socialist bureaucracies. Thank goodness we have a sane United States Justice Department that should look into this attack on individual property rights. If not, look out.
