What a magic moment for the team to sit on the ice where they won a Gold Medal, announced the best in the world, and share, in private, away from the public, a last gathering with a few drinks. It was a wonderful time to let loose all the pressure and tension.
Just leave it to some sanctimonious reporter to ‘sneak’ in on this private gathering and make a spectacle of it. As if they were boozing and running naked in the streets! COME ON!
And still add those who condemn them for this last chance to be just them together, no crowd, no judges, no cameras, to laugh, remember, cheer and cry over the sacrifices each made to be there – and to bond for the last time.
I hope the reporter who denied these wonderful athletes their last rights together, held in private, in their last hurray is denied access to the MEN”S HOCKEY teams and never allowed access again.
Shame on those papers and Letters to the Editors who condemn these girls who deserved their privacy and did nothing but do what was their right to do – enjoy their victory together on the ice with their own thoughts. They deserved BETTER!
