New nuclear submarines

Half-Armed Canada

The word on the street is Canada might deep-six our leaky, second-hand diesel submarines and replace them with new nuclear ones.

There’s no mention of how the subs will be armed. Nuclear subs without nuclear missiles would be about as useful as John Diefenbaker’s Bomarc-missiles without the war-heads. Sometimes I wonder if we’ll ever be taken seriously by our American allies. William Bedford Toronto, Ontario
