I Don't Hate Leftists

I don't hate leftists. We simply have our differences.

Ironically, many folks with whom I interact in this 'blue' or Democratic city are leftists of the Green Party and Democratic Socialist varieties with a silent majority of regular Democrats in the background.

I'm secure in my own reality so I'm not interested in arguing with leftists about their realities

My 'safety creation' is based on changing folks tactics instead of arguing ideology. I love reminding stakeholders that criminals don't care about your philosophy or political party. They only care about victimizing you.

As a self-described 'independent-independent' politically, I focus on safety outcomes more than opposing opinions about a given politician.

Yes, I'm very opinionated but not when it comes to helping people safeguard their persons and property.

I'm secure in my own reality so I'm not interested in arguing with leftists about their realities.

Bickering won't make us safer or richer. Working on common concerns will take us closer to safety and opportunity.

The same holds true for coordinating what I call 'safe fun' inside venues or events where most patrons are to the left of me. Usually lot more left, candidly.

On a related note, I've encouraged more than my fair share of leftist crime victims who grappled with beliefs which interfered with resolving an assault or theft.

I didn't harangue them about their worldview. That would've been rude and worse, counterproductive. I remember persuading a young leftist man struck in the head with a brick to let me call the police. He finally succumbed to an appeal for not letting it happen to anyone else.

A breakthrough wouldn't have been possible if I berated his beliefs.

Another case comes to mind where a young White female bicyclist was knocked onto the street during an attempted robbery in front of where I lived. Her scream alerted me and two other neighbors, one unhoused incidentally, who came to her aid.

I sat her on my front stairs and eventually convinced her to contact the police. She initially hesitated out of misplaced sympathy for the Black suspect. My reply was allowing other women to be attacked at night wasn't a legitimate response to racial inequality.

Truly nonpartisan 'creation of safety' addresses excesses the left encourages where it reigns. Their working class are captives held in close proximity to criminals who aren't adequately arrested and prosecuted.

An encouraging development is New Orleans crime has gotten so bad that our largely Green Party, Democratic Socialist grassroots constituency has run out of excuses to justify being brutalized. They're tired of it and rightfully so.

Unfortunately, progressive politicians are another matter. Their vanity is more important than admitting any role in area casualties.

That's why it's so important to meet people where they are. We become partners in increasing outcomes where fewer residents and tourists are injured or worse.

I don't hate leftists.

I just don't like how their ideology treats those it claims to care so much about.
