Immigration, Migration, Invasion, and the Colonization of America - Part 3: Stranger Danger!

At stake is the future of our Nation and the preservation of all that has made America good and a beacon of hope and freedom to the world


In Part 1 we looked into a bit of immigration history, and why the current situation is a concern. Part 2 described the different categories of people entering the country and who we might wish to accept as immigrants.

Not all invaders are created equal, though, and there are many we don't wish to stay. Many of those represent serious dangers both to individual citizens as well as the security and well-being of our nation. We will look at the rest of the list we presented in part 2 to get a better picture of who we don't want to keep.

The first five on this list were discussed in part 2, and are people we might want to have stay. Here we look at the remaining eight classes of invaders, and present a short summary of why each is a particular problem.

Foreign Agents

DHS reports almost 25,000 Chinese military age individuals crossed our border in 2024 alone. Most of these have been fit males who appear to have military training. Several of them have probed US military bases, even entering them on occasion, and not through authorized entries. Aside from military facilities, our entire infrastructure is open and was never designed to resist sabotage or attack.

Electrical distribution networks, water supplies and distribution, waste disposal systems, roads, bridges, food supplies and distribution, railroads, and so many other essentials are vulnerable and easily targeted. We have never, in this country, had to confront survival after massive attack such as Europe experienced in the aftermath of two World Wars. Europe, Japan, and other areas were rebuilt with massive American assistance. Who would help us rebuild? Who could? China?

A dedicated Fifth Column of saboteurs embedded in the country could wreak terrible destruction in short order. Aside from the actual destruction, the mere presence of a network of agents willing and able to destroy would give any outside entity that could activate such a network immense power and control over our policies and even over our ability to provide assistance to allies.

The presence of agents, not just from China, but also Iran and other potential adversaries, is a major compromise of national security. We should not tolerate it lightly. A very recent report on the problem was prepared for the House, and is well worth reading.



Individuals fleeing prosecution

Sadly, America is also attractive for those who are wanted for crimes in their own countries. The current laxity toward crime, and especially toward crime committed by illegal immigrants encourages immigration of those fleeing prosecution. What sort of contribution can we expect from such "immigrants"?

Religious and cultural agents

Aside from sponsored agents, there are numerous individuals from organizations who seek to influence or even transform aspects of America into something more to their liking.

Large numbers of immigrants have come here recently from Islamic countries, as well as from Marxist and Communist strongholds. America, with its Christian and capitalist heritage, coupled with a system of governance oriented to protection of the individual, is an anathema to most of these groups and individuals.

By their own admission, many of the Islamic individuals have come with the express intent of forcing conversion of America to an Islamic state under Sharia law. Given that America is commonly referred to as the "Great Satan" and "Death to America" is a common chant, such intentions by individuals and groups must be taken seriously.

Islam exhorts its believers to fight unbelievers wherever possible and put to death those who do not submit. Special provision is made for "people of the Book”-Christians, and Jews. They are to be allowed to convert to Islam, and only if they refuse are they to be beheaded.

Similarly, many come from Marxist, Socialist, and Communist origins. Like with Islam, these have no regard for the rights of the individual that are core values of America. Unlike our concept that government exists to preserve and protect the rights of each citizen, the collectivist foundation of the "ist" systems is that individuals exist to serve the State, and their only value is in the value of their service to the State.

The actual numbers of such individuals is unknown since good records are not kept or reported, but even a few thousand can have a disproportionate effect. Indications are that there are many tens of thousands of Islamists and Marxist/Socialist/Communists arriving or already present.



Terrorists

Along with the above discussed religious and cultural agents, there are significant numbers of actual terrorists - individuals willing and able to commit violent acts against US citizens in the service of their cause.

Recently, a number of individuals from Tajikistan who had trained with Al-Qaida in Afghanistan were found and apprehended in four different states. They had come here with the express intent of perpetrating terror attacks when signalled to do so.

They are likely only the tip of the iceberg, as ICE reports encountering individuals on terrorist watch lists attempting to cross the border on an almost daily basis. A very recent report from DHS indicated that over 400 known Middle-Eastern terrorists had entered the country. How many others are not intercepted, especially when the number of "got-aways" may exceed the number of border crossers actually observed? How many sleeper cells are already in place?

Donald Trump was severely criticized for wanting to restrict the number of individuals from states known to sponsor terrorists. Most of these states were predominately Islamic. He was called Islamophobic and worse. A phobia is a fear or concern, and is often a rational response to a dangerous condition. Given the source and the nature of many current terrorists, one might ask are we Islamophobic enough?

Our corrupt administration wants to import millions of Hamas Palestinians from Gaza - you know, the ones who brutally attacked Israel last October. Although nearly all of them are Muslims, no Muslim country wants to take them in. Do they know something we don't?

What would they do if they were released into this country - a land they have no love for and one they see as supporting their enemies and supporting what they see as blasphemous beliefs with a secular system of laws? Would they assimilate? Would they work to establish their own systems? Many of them have been trained in terrorism and have only been deterred from practicing same against us by a large ocean. Do we want to remove that barrier?




Violent criminals

The Congressional Research Service reports that in 2018 there were an estimated 10,000 MS-13 gang members in the US. There were an estimated 50,000 to 70,000 in Central America. Given current migrations from that region, it is likely that there may be twice as many present now. But MS-13 members are not the only violent criminals of concern.

It is now public knowledge that Venezuela has been emptying their prisons and directing former prisoners to go to the US. Many other countries have done likewise. It makes good sense for them to do so since prisons are expensive to maintain, difficult to manage, and generally serve as training grounds for criminals - sort of Universities of Crime.

If a country can get rid of their criminal population by exporting them to the US, and if we are dumb enough to accept them, then why not? I don't think imposing an import tariff will be very useful here.

Drug traffickers

Tons of dangerous drugs like Fentanyl and cocaine come across our borders each year. Trafficking in these drugs is a major industry, employing tens of thousands of people on both sides of the border. Sourcing, packaging, distribution, wholesaling, retailing, are all involved. While we want to encourage small businesses, are these really the businesses we need?




Colonizers and settlers

These categories are special. They represent a particular type of migrant that we haven't seen for almost two centuries in any quantity.

Various Islamic groups have settled in portions of Michigan, replacing American culture and even laws with their own. A large number of migrants from Mexico have moved into the Southwest with the intent of reclaiming land they consider to have been stolen from Mexico.

Yes, many diverse groups have come to this country bringing their languages, cultures, and traditions with them. Nearly all of them came with the intent of adopting the cultures of their new country while retaining what was familiar to them in order to be able to function. That is immigration, not colonization or settling.

True, there were also settlers in our history - ones who came to claim lands that seemed vacant and open. The history of the westward expansion has many stories of settlements, all too many of which involved injustices against those who inhabited the territories prior to the arrival of settlers. These stories provide cautionary tales that inform us of the hazards inherent in allowing settlers among us.

Native Americans, aka American Indians, had no effective barriers to unrestricted immigration and settlement. We can ask how that worked out for them.

In the final Part 4,- Shipwreck rules, we will address two questions: What do we do now? What CAN we do? There are no easy answers. At stake is the future of our Nation and the preservation of all that has made America good and a beacon of hope and freedom to the world. Difficult choices and even more difficult actions lie before us so that, in the words of Abraham Lincoln,

"... that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."
