Kamala Harris Doesn't Represent Black Men and Can't Represent Us

In honor of a late beloved ancestor and close relative, I allowed myself fleeting feelings of pride for her sorority sister, Vice President--and presumptive 2024 Democratic Presidential nominee--Kamala Harris.

I felt pleasure at a fellow member of our HBCU-historically Black college and university-family achieving so much so quickly.

I closed these favorable feelings nodding approvingly about what a height scaled this is for Black women. Sisters trajectory until relatively recently meant their historic White House role was as captive servants and maids.

Critical context to who in the Black community is allowed to ascend on the left

I snapped my fingers and returned to my usual snarky self.

While Biracial people have always been part of the Black community, I find it instructive how Barack Obama, the first Black president, wasn't a son of two Black parents, nor is that true for the current Vice President.

Part of our history as a colonized community is a fast track enjoyed by children of slave masters or post-captivity, others from outside of our community.

Her undergraduate alma mater, it's whispered, was founded to educate the offspring of White men who assaulted Black girls and women or otherwise welcome them to their White households.

None of this is casting aspersions on Black colleges nor parentage no one has a choice in.

It does, however, provide critical context to who in the Black community is allowed to ascend on the left.

Yes, I typed 'allowed' because community members are selected and others rejected by a domestic politburo, with merit not playing any role--contrary to civic mythology.

If theory that Harris has been seeking high office since childhood holds true, then her choice of the premiere Black university and joining the first historically Black Greek letter sorority, also founded there, makes perfect sense.

She started her career with the best possible middle class Black credentials firmly in hand.

Not being 'Black enough'

These nepotistic networks within my community well serve a biracial seeker after high office who needs to quiet eventual allegations of not being 'Black enough' due to having an Indian mother.

Not having two Black parents also soothes 'anti racist' corporate liberals more comfortable with someone who isn't an American Descendant of Slaves (ADOs) or Foundational Black American (FBA) to use the latest phrasing from the reparations movement.

Now, through suspected Machiavellian machinations, Harris stands poised to be the 2024 Democratic Presidential nominee.

Brothers pushed to the periphery of the Democratic Party coalition should read this moment for what it is: another misuse of our community to further an ideological Black colonist of the liberal ideology she serves.

We saw this twice before with President Obama, himself a biracial Black presenting the ideological colonist of liberalism.

Kamala Harris doesn't represent Black men and can't represent us because we're beasts of burden for the outside ideology owning her loyalty.

She's ready to sit in the saddle the left wants on every Black man's back.

In closing, look at who Democrats position in our community.

They're positioning a politicized version of Black femininity disconnected from our masculinity. Sisters are simply another front for furthering their ideology not advancing our community.

Vote against this ideology or sit out the 2024 presidential election entirely.

Either way, exercise your autonomy.
