Kinky for Perry?

Kinky Friedman endorsing Rick Perry? This is significant in Texas. For those of you in the dark, Kinky Friedman is a Texas comedian, singer, poet, pundit, observer and all-round gadfly on the rump of any horse's arse politician. He is the Texas answer to Jackie Mason. If you don't know who Jackie Mason is, you just might be a Redneck ... or very young.
This all got me to thinking ... Kinky Friedman is usually much more obnoxious than this, and far more blunt in his assessment of politics. He is a first level defender of Israel, and an unabashed Libertarian Jew ... "A what?" you ask. Yes, indeed. Kinky is usually railing against everything in society in his earthy, annoyingly funny way. Kinky claims to try to get along with everyone [... even Paul Begala!?]. I guess this is part of his nature. But Kinky is quick to go his own way, and needles everyone else in the process. Rick Perry may find himself keeping friends close, but keeping Kinky Friedman closer. I don't know.

My more mischievous side would love to see Kinky Friedman as the Ambassador to the United Nations. He'd defend our true friends, and flatly part the hair of our enemies in true Texas-style. Would that not be refreshing? So, maybe this settles the dust out there for a lot of you. On the other hand, it may simply confirm for others that both of these men are establishment sellouts ... it's up to you. I don't agree with Rick Perry on a few things. But, but there is something about the guy, Perry, that rings "true and genuine" to me. I may be way wrong, but I like the guy. And, by the way, I liked what I saw in Dallas Texas last June as I was passing through town. I know it was only a snapshot. But my first impression upon seeing Dallas again for the first time in five years: Dallas was and still is way beyond shovel ready. Folks who are looking for the perfect Republican had better go get some DNA from the Smithsonian, clone Abraham Lincoln in an American Laboratory to two young, married, Natural Born, heterosexual scientists in Kentucky, and then wait for 36 years. But then, I am certain Lincoln would still have many "enemies" these days. Conservatives had better go do similarly with DNA from Buckley and Reagan [in Connecticut and Illinois respectively]. Anyway, we all can argue over these messy details later. For now, let's get going on the comprehensive plan for taking America back from the Progressives Socialists. But, for heaven sakes, let's take "Hill 2012" first!
