Mississippi 4-year-old boy, dog rescued after falling down well

A four-year-old boy and his dog were rescued from a southwest Mississippi well late Monday.

The Clarion-Ledger newspaper reported that the boy was extracted from the well at approximately 8 p.m. local time, while the dog was pulled out a few minutes later. Clifford Galey, civil defense director for Lincoln County, told the Daily Leader newspaper that the well was approximately 25 feet deep, with an opening that was only about a foot and a half wide.
