Listening to Barack Obama’s UN speech (Sept. 22) it was hard to believe that he believed what he was saying. According to Obama, Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt and Libya (having gotten rid of their evil dictators) are all set to become democratic republics.
The truth is all these countries are unstable and will, in all probability, return to their traditional ways under different dictators after the US and its allies, including Canada, leave. The only thing Obama said that made sense was that peace between Israelis and Palestinians can only be brought about by themselves. But I think I’ve heard that said somewhere before.
