Obama: It's 'bad apple' insurers, not ObamaCare, taking away the plans you liked

Be honest: When his lie is so blatant and so clearly exposed, with no conceivable way of covering it up, with the videos of his false promise spliced together and playing over and over on YouTube, with even his MSM cheerleaders reporting what a liar he turned out to be . . . did you allow yourself to think, just for a moment, that maybe, just maybe, he might for once in his life man up and admit what he did?
Just for a moment? Ha!
Speaking in Boston, Obama said those who are getting dropped will be able to find new options through the online insurance exchanges, or marketplaces, established under the 2010 law. "Just shop around in the new marketplace," he said. "You're going to get a better deal." He also stressed that the law allows Americans to keep bare-bones plans created before the law was signed, as long as insurers did not change or cancel them. "Remember, before the Affordable Care Act, these bad-apple insurers had free rein every single year to limit the care that you received, or used minor pre-existing conditions to jack up your premiums, or bill you into bankruptcy," Obama said.

Got that? Don't you try to tell him that he lied. It's not his fault that "bad apple" insurance companies went and complied with his law. ObamaCare has nothing to do with it! Just like ObamaCare has nothing to do with workers' hours getting cut. Nothing is ever his fault. Ludicrous though it is, it's worthwhile to break down the spin Democrats are now trying to employ. Within ObamaCare is a clause that says any plan in place in 2010 can remain - is "grandfathered" - so long as nothing about it ever changes in the slightest. Premium goes up or down by $1? That's a change. Element of coverage is added or subtracted? That's a change. Now of course, health plans change all the time in various ways. Almost no insurance policy stays frozen in time. And that's how ObamaCare got you. As soon as your plan underwent any sort of normal evolution, it changed! And that makes your insurer a "bad apple" and absolves Obama of any blame whatsoever for you losing your insurance. That's part of the spin. The other part is the attempt to tar every health plan not in compliance with ObamaCare "minimum standards" as some sort of scam. So if you're well past child-bearing age and you will never need maternity coverage? Doesn't matter. The plan you want to buy that doesn't cover it is a scam. Just shop around and you'll get a better deal! Of course, it's not a better deal at all, partially because the premiums are soaring and partially because it's not necessarily a better deal at all that more stuff is "covered." Hard as it may be for Obama to understand, some of us prefer paying our own bills. When you pay the bills, you're the boss. Some of us don't like the idea of submitting claims and waiting around to see what's covered and what's not. When you pay the bills, everything is covered that you decide is covered. In the age of ObamaCare, if you want that freedom over your own life, you're taking part in a scam. Of course, that's not what Obama said at all. He said that if you like your plan, you can keep your plan and no one will ever take it away, period. Now you realize why they're making people buy coverage for all this stuff they don't need. That's the whole idea. That's how they raise the money to pay for the promises in ObamaCare. You can't possibly pay for all these people who sign up with pre-existing conditions - at price-controlled rates - unless you force all kinds of healthy people to buy coverage they don't need, force people who will not have kids to buy maternity coverage, force people with no mental health issues to buy mental health coverage. Health insurance has long been a bad value for most people, and in order for the ObamaCare model to work, they need to make it an even worse value for as many people as possible. The plans being canceled were, for many people, as close to a good health insurance value as you're ever going to get. They protected people against catastrophe but otherwise left them alone to take care of their own needs. That's how insurance is supposed to work. But with ObamaCare, nothing works the way it's supposed to. Not the web site. Not the insurance market. Not the job market. Not anything. But don't blame Obama. It's the contractors. It's the "bad apple" insurers. It's everyone but him. Even when he's caught red-handed in the most blatant of lies, he will never, ever, take responsibility for it. That is not what he does.
