Stephen Harper

Oh, Canada!

When a middle power shares embassies with a larger power, the middle power, inevitably, will be the junior partner. And, which flag gets burned by the raging-rabble when the two powers differ on foreign policy as Canada did with Britain on the invasion of Iraq?

And if a country is host to our dual-embassies and it decides to break off diplomatic relations with Britain, wouldn’t the Canadian embassy also get the boot? And what message would sharing an embassy with any other country send to the world about Canada’s independence? Stephen Harper, by suggesting such nonsense, confirms the suspicion that he is a dyed-in-the-wool colonialist. William Bedford Toronto
