In 2006, prosecutors dismissed the criminal case against Hashemi citing a lack of evidence. Bite marks on Selena's body failed to conclusively match Hashemi's teeth and mother and daughter had been returned by the courts to their native Germany.
The family court case however proceeded with a finding -- according to court records -- that Hashemi physically abused or improperly supervised Selena. Though Moss presides over the family court, it's finding is noticeably absent from her order.
