Time magazine calls men like Dominique Strauss-Kahan, pigs. The male of the species is programmed by nature to see sex as a sport as well as an act of love. Women see sex differently. As they used to say before the Pill gave women the same sexual freedom as men: “Women must say no before the wedding, men must say no after the wedding.”
Even today’s liberated woman will seldom have sex with someone she doesn’t like. But when a man in Dominique Strauss-Kahan’s position forces sex on a maid, it’s not about sex at all, It’s about raw, naked, no pun intended, power. As Time would say: “They are pigs!”
