I had pizza this evening with two Trumpers in a city solidly supporting Kamala Harris

I just got in from a pizza dinner meeting I had with two buddies who are Trumpers. This is our schedule-permitting get-together to talk politics and catch up.
One of them welcomed me to the Trump camp since my candidate RFK, Jr., suspended his presidential campaign to endorse Donald Trump.
Usual disclaimer: I'm not a Forever Trumper nor a Never Trumper. My opposition to the Democratic establishment has me recognizing his role as candidate best positioned to unseat them from the White House.
We discussed Trump's appeal to Black male voters. While I don't know the size of our vote he'll get, mass migration, muzzling Black men in the Democratic Party and gun control are key drivers behind why there's such an uptick in support.
Brothers who aren't far left colonists see Donald Trump as a viable alternative to an agenda opposed for reasons which have nothing to do with the GOP.
Most aren't trying to become Republicans. They're just not trying to hear what Democrats are saying this election cycle.
I stressed that Harris will get a large percentage of the historically Black greek letter organization vote as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, the first historically Black sorority. Black students, college graduates and other middle class members will massively turn out for her. In their eyes, she's one of them, complete with an undergraduate degree from a leading HBCU.
We discussed the costly folly of propping up the Ukrainian war effort. As I said at dinner and later on X, 'I looked at young people working there, eating there, alone & w/babies. Said I wanted NONE of them drafted into a forever war episode.
I'm no pacifist. I'm no neocon artist either.
While one dining companion dismissed the possibility of a military draft, he conceded that armed forces hollowed out by exhaustive occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq wasn't up to the task of garrison duty on behalf of war efforts supported by this country.
Our mass migration discussion had two-thirds of our trio firmly opposed to even much quoted 'hard working, law abiding' migrants here illegally. Pushing back from my grassroots security perspective came as a concern that they're a fifth column in league with countrymen who are gang members.
Self-imported migrants don't cut ties with criminals from their homelands. They serve as eyes and ears and safe houses for them in the new country too.
They're here to empower fellow expatriates, not become citizens--a point the other third in our group, a business man, has yet to fully realize.
