Street Fighting In Front of Places of Worship Is Public Intimidation At Its Worst

Public intimidation outside a place of worship is as low as it gets, even worse than intimidating people outside their homes.

I understand passions aroused around intensity of the Israeli counter offensive against Hamas and its allies.

I further understand concerns about its proportionality and conversely, possess a smattering of understanding as an outsider regarding cries of double standards supporters say are always directed toward Jewish self defense.

For the record, I'm strenuously trying to stay out of this matter in favor of full plate of safety concerns piled high in my community.

The war outside my door continues unabated.

Also for the record: I'm not a Zionist, nor a formal member of their opposition.

I even hold a hope against hope that the Abrahamic faiths of Judaism, Christianity and Islam will unite one unlikely day.

Obviously this union won't be any day soon.

I feel targeting places of worship for protest crosses a line so precious that it must be denounced. Violating it readily-and rightly- invites comparisons to some of the worst movements in modern history.

Street fighting in front of places of worship is public intimidation at its worst and is wrong, spiritually wrong, intellectually wrong for those who don't believe in God and strategically wrong since it alienates sympathetic moderates whose lean toward your cause just snapped away in revulsion.
