The Democrat Party Is Heading For Oblivion If It Doesn't Reverse Course

This past week Americans have seen the left lashing out and becoming even more radical, despite the repudiation of those ideas November 5. In a hilarious reversal, only a few years ago on the left driving a Tesla was on par with wearing a mask in terms of progressive bona fides.

This past week we saw leftist terrorists burning down Tesla charging stations and destroying Teslas nationwide. Leftists restarted their anti-Israel, anti-Jewish and pro-Hamas demonstrations. They have made a pro-Hamas visa holding agitator a hero spurring an invasion of Trump Tower and even harassment of the Vice President’s young child. Most disturbing is the recent pro-abortion radicalism, well outside the mainstream of America and a result of the uniquely hyper-secular views of the new Democrats

On abortion radicalism, Oregon’s NBC Right Now reported: “Governor Tina Kotek (openly lesbian with gay marriage declared March 10 as Abortion Provider Appreciation Day in Oregon, highlighting her administration's dedication to maintaining abortion access across the state. During a ceremony, Governor Kotek signed the proclamation, emphasizing the importance of abortion care. ‘Here in Oregon, we understand that abortion is health care, and providers are appreciated and can continue to provide care without interference and intimidation,’ she said.

The proclamation comes at a time when Oregon is seeing an increase in out-of-state abortion patients. According to the Oregon Health Authority, 1,661 out-of-state patients received abortions in Oregon in 2023, marking a nearly 60% increase from the previous year…… Following the November election, Governor Kotek directed the Oregon Health Authority to work with OHSU to replenish the state's supply of Mifepristone, a medication approved by the FDA for…. ending pregnancy.” (NBC Right Now, March 10, 2025)

Governor Kotek is married to a fellow Lesbian and farther to the radical left than most, but is the first to honor and commend doctors and nurses who are using their licenses and skills to take life.

The Democratic Party has moved light years to the left on abortion in recent years. Most of us remember Bill Clinton voicing the Democratic Party position that abortion should be “safe, legal, and rare” during his 1992 bid for the Presidency. His wife Hillary repeated this, with the caveat “and I mean rare” when running for President in 2008. Until around 2012, Democrats understood the moral qualms of their average voter with terminating an unborn baby, while holding to a right of the woman to make this “choice”. 

That changed around a decade ago as reported by Anna North in Vox: “But many abortion rights advocates argued that calling for the procedure to be ‘rare’ placed a stigma on people who seek it. ‘There’s a fundamental notion of bodily autonomy we’ve been fighting for as advocates and activists on this issue for years,’ Destiny Lopez, co-director of the All Above All Action Fund, a nonprofit that works to expand abortion access, told Vox. Saying abortion should be rare “completely negates all the work that we’ve done.” (Vox, Oct 18, 2019) 

As part of that change, Hillary Clinton dropped “rare” in her 2016 compaign, becoming part of the party’s “more full-throated support of abortion rights.” Around this time, the call to “shout your abortion” came into vogue, with Democrat encouragement for women to take pride in abortions. Thus encouraging further abortions and removing any restraint. Under the Biden Administration, the DOJ actively prosecuted pro-life protesters with felony charges (involving long prison sentences under the FACE Act), for primarily non-violent hymn singing in front of clinics.

In addition to pro-abortion radicalism, Democrats are nowhere near the American people with regards radical gender ideology. Despite 80% of Americans opposing biological men in women’s sports and women’s locker rooms, Democrats voted against protecting women’s sports even after the November 5 election (The Center Square, Feb 1, 2025)

They were the same with protection of minors from the genital mutilation and puberty blocking procedures for sex change. Polls show the nation is against these procedures for minors, but the Democratic Party not only supports, but slams Democrats trying to return then party to gender sanity. On illegal immigration, law enforcement, gender ideology and the rest, Democrats not only remain beholden to radical ideas Americans don’t support, but ignore polling and election results to push it down people’s throats.

Underneath the surface, the primary partisan divide, growing exponentially since Bill Clinton’s “safe, legal, rare”, has been religion. When Clinton ran for President in 1992, members of both parties were not far with religion, even as Republicans were clearly becoming the more religious. Of the 16% of Americans who identified as “secular” in 1992, 41% were Democrat and 34% were Republican. (Research Gate)

By 2024, 84% of atheists identified as Democrat, compared with only 13% of Republicans, and 78% of agnostics identified as Democrat versus only 21% identifying as Republican (Pew Research, April 9, 2024)

The religious gap has become a new Grand Canyon in recent years. This best explains the seemingly unbelievable reversals the Democrats have made with religiously connected issues (beginning of life, God’s creation of men/women).

If the Democratic Party cannot reverse its descent into godlessness, it will be doomed to fall into the oblivion of a small echo chamber nobody will want around. British Historian Paul Johnson wrote in the History of the American People: “America is a God-fearing country, with all it implies”. Political parties ignore this truth at their peril.
