Those ‘FRAC’n’ Americans

Jeff Pritchard, FracAmerica

Frac is a word that is commonly used in the oil industry. Fracs (or fractures) are made in oil and gas wells to allow for the easier flow of fluids to the wellbore. To Jeff Pritchard, an Oklahoma native who works on oil rigs in the Fort Worth Texas area, Frac means something else; it is an acronym that stands for Freedom of Religion, Arms and Commerce in America. The army vet first thought about creating a website last summer to do something about what he saw was happening to his country. Although employed, he has seen coworkers laid off and he understands the problems that his company is having with the state of the economy.

His idea to create a website was conceived prior to the election of Barack Obama whose campaign for “change” we all know now meant changing the US from the most prosperous nation in history to another run of the mill socialist state. Jeff Pritchard’s interest in politics began in his teens when he became a Christian and Ronald Reagan was in the White House. He believes that the US has been in a downward spiral since the Great Communicator left office in early 1989. A registered Republican, he became especially disillusioned during the latter George W. Bush years. Prichard agrees with his late father’s description of George W. Bush as “the best Democrat president that the United States ever had”. After learning his way around the Internet, Pritchard he began a website, fracamerica.org ,in an attempt to unite all Americans who are concerned about the erosion of their liberties. The purpose of the site is not to speak out against the present Obama administration but to challenge the status quo of the American government. Pritchard feels that those who are fighting to preserve their freedoms are too fragmented; some people are fighting for freedom of religion while others are fighting to preserve their right to bear arms. He would like to see people come together and simply fight for freedom; all freedoms. Mr. Pritchard sends FRACgrams to the White House, his Senators and his Member of Congress and a copy of this FRACgram can be downloaded from his site. What is different and perhaps unique about how he sends his FRACgrams is that he delivers them to the politicians by snail mail. The theory is that politicians will pay more attention to his FRACgrams if someone in their offices has to open an envelope, take the letter out and then decide what to do with it. Although the thought of sending communications through regular mail sounds absolutely archaic in this day and age he may be on to something. If enough people sent hard copy FRACgrams to their legislators they would stand out more than an equivalent number of emails. Pritchard’s site, fracamerica.org is a tribute to what one person; a self described “nobody” with no particular related experience can do in the fight take back America.
