Those who put the Scarborough and Colorado shootings in the same category don’t understand the difference between homicidal-thugs and psychopaths.
There are numerous ways to fight criminal gangs, but there is absolutely no protection from or defence against the violent rampages of psychopaths. While members of criminal gangs love to draw attention to themselves by strutting around wearing their gang symbols and having themselves tattooed, psychopaths are polar opposites. Psychopaths are loners, and invariably described by those who know them as quiet and polite. Ontario rapist-murderer David Williams, John Hinkley, who tried to assassinate President Reagan, and Colorado mass-murder suspect James Holmes are typical psychopaths, and unless psychopathic children are diagnosed and treated, they are destined to become murderous adults.
