Toronto Elementary School With No Gender-Specific Washrooms Receives Parent Complaints
A Toronto elementary school is the first in the city to have girls and boys use the same multi-stall washrooms, and the resulting problems have reportedly included a boy exposing himself to a girl, kids peeking under the stall doors, stall doors being kicked in while girls are inside, and girls uncomfortable performing menstrual hygiene.
“I want my daughter to go to school in a safe environment,” said the father of the grade 1 girl who allegedly had a boy expose himself to her in the washroom. The father was one of 10 parents with children in Jean Lumb Public School who spoke with the Toronto Star about their concerns. -- More...
