Trump to announce SCOTUS pick Tuesday at 8 P.M.

Last week, we reported that Trump was planning to announce his choice of Supreme Court nominee this coming Thursday. Now, we've learned that the timeline has been moved up. The President has made his final selection, and he'll be announcing it tomorrow.
Unless someone comes from out of left field, the pick will be one of two names: Neil Gorsuch & Thomas Hardiman. Both of these guys are appellate judges and both were once about as non-controversial as you can get. As Ed Morrissey writes:
These two appellate jurists got confirmed by the Senate with no dissenting votes. The Senate didn’t even bother with a roll-call vote for Gorsuch but used unanimous consent instead, and Hardiman got confirmed 95-0.
Now that they're being nominated by Trump, Democrats will no doubt pretend they're a pair of fascist monsters who seek to resurrect Hitler and rebuild the Third Reich in the middle of Central Park. Previously, it seemed that Gorsuch was the frontrunner, but now rumor has it the smart money is on Hardiman. That (if you believe the scuttlebutt) may be unfortunate. It's hard to predict how a judge will rule once he's sitting on the SCOTUS bench, but he has a reputation as being more in the mold of Kennedy than Scalia. We'll know tomorrow...
