Two Governors Once Again Rob Legal Taxpayers To Protect Illegals

At this point, it’s impossible to feel any sympathy for residents in any blue state. The voters in those states keep bashing their heads against the wall because it feels good when they stop. The question is, when will they stop?

TNTC was a term we used in bacteriology when counting bacteria on a Petri dish. The term was an abbreviation for “Too numerous to count,” which we can now apply to another form of bacteria: Democratic governors and mayors.

Recently, it became known that both Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, and Mikie Sherrill, the governor of New Jersey, diverted hard-earned taxpayer money to benefit illegals.

In Sherill's case, she announced that she was allocating an additional $12 million of tax dollars to aid in the legal fees for illegals. This is in addition to the $8.2 million previously funded.

A statement from the New Jersey Government website:

“Governor Mikie Sherrill and leaders in the New Jersey Legislature announced a $12 million increase in funding for the Detention Deportation Defense Initiative (DDDI), bringing the total funding for the program to $20.2 million.
"Additionally, in coordination with Human Services Commissioner Stephen Cha, Governor Sherrill announced a coordinated Rapid Legal Response Initiative led by Human Services' Office of New Americans (ONA) to expand statewide legal capacity for emergency immigration defense and support immigrant families across New Jersey.
"As the Trump Administration's escalating attacks on immigrants have affected longtime residents, families, and vulnerable children, these announcements represent Governor Sherrill's ongoing commitment to securing the rights of immigrants facing detention and deportation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).”

Other officials attempted to explain this robbery, but some things are too ridiculous to explain. State Senate President Nick Scutari tried, though stating:

“The treatment of the detainees at Delaney Hall is offensive to all of us who value human dignity and respect the basic rights of those who are held by the Justice system in this country. Their legal rights should not be compromised or ignored - especially if they face the threat of deportation. This emergency funding will provide support for legal services to protect their right to due process and access to fair hearings. This is the type of responsible action we should be taking in New Jersey to prevent further disruptions and restore respect for the legal process and civil engagement. It is a statement of principle that honors the values that we cherish as Americans.”

"Sherill and all Democrats still can’t grasp that there are legal ways to enter the country, and those who break the law don’t deserve to be helped; they need to be prosecuted.
"Even more egregious is what Newsom is doing to California residents. After wildfires ravaged areas of the state, Newsom, trying to play the savior card, went on record saying he would rebuild California "with no strings attached."

Is that what happened? Of course not, with Newsom, we’re dealing with one of the biggest liars in a party of liars. Instead, he diverted $12.8 million of the wildfire response and recovery fund to deploy Highway Patrol officers to anti-deportation riots in Los Angeles last summer.

Another $1.5 million was allocated to the Governor's Office of Emergency Services for contracts to support local law enforcement during nationwide demonstrations.

In June of last year, Los Angeles became the center of violent anti-ICE protests following the Trump administration's launch of deportation raids targeting illegals in the city and its surroundings.

Organized groups consistently overwhelmed local law enforcement almost every night, leading to hundreds of arrests.

Newsom used the disaster fund—money designated for families living in cars in Altadena—to keep the streets clear of mobs protecting those Trump was trying to deport.

This was the same fund Newsom announced with the line:

"Unlike MAGA Republicans in Washington who talk about delaying relief for political purposes, California is supporting our people with no strings attached."

Right. No strings? Reinforced cables, yes, but no strings.

The wildfires started on January 7th, 2025, so it has been 18 months since these people were displaced. At least 60 percent of the initial $1.5 billion relief budget – roughly $895 million – has not been spent.

Not delayed. Not awaiting approval. Just sitting there, unallocated, while fire survivors are "still living in cars back and forth," according to Altadena fire survivor Zaire Calvin, who spoke to NBC Los Angeles in May.

The state has only distributed $605 million of the $2.5 billion relief package over the past eighteen months. In total, $37 million was allocated to the fire departments of the City of Los Angeles and the County of Los Angeles. Additionally, the $3 million designated for small businesses destroyed in the fires is just a small fraction of what Governor Newsom spent on managing the rioters.

Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger told NBC Los Angeles on June 4 that the unspent money could still be critical for rebuilding Altadena. A year and a half later.

When Newsom signed the $2.5 billion relief package in January 2025, he emphasized that it would "jumpstart recovery" and "expedite" emergency response efforts. He appeared on camera to connect with families and made the issue personal.

His office now states that the fund was "specifically designed as an advance of funds for FEMA reimbursable projects."

However, this explanation requires voters to accept that managing anti-deportation protests qualifies as a FEMA-reimbursable expense related to wildfire recovery.

If you examine the actual legislation, you'll find that the requirement in question is not present. The California Assembly bill does not reference any limitations on federal reimbursement. The allowable uses of the fund, as stated in state law, "include, but are not limited to," the specified public safety functions. However, Newsom's team has imposed constraints that are not found in the law they enacted.

Survivors of the wildfire are currently living in their cars, while anti-ICE protestors received paid police escorts using disaster relief funds that were meant for the victims. Governor Newsom criticized Washington for providing relief with strings attached, yet he continues to write checks to the crowds protesting Trump's deportations.

Newsom has prioritized the rioters over the victims, and financial records prove both his wicked, immoral actions and inaction.

At this point, it’s impossible to feel any sympathy for residents in any blue state. The voters in those states keep bashing their heads against the wall because it feels good when they stop. The question is, when will they stop?
