What I Want For Grassroots Folks During This Election Cycle-and Beyond!

What's a grassroots Brother to do while.standing between two warring major ideologies as their national conventions begin?

Stay wide awake (alert to threats by jackals hunting public figures, political gangs rioting hoping to also influence elections and outside manipulators overseas) and stay focused on 'war outside my door', as I call violent community treason, drug addiction, homelessness and inflation negatively impacting the grassroots.

While a possessor of strong opinions, I avoid joining chorus of chaos whose membership is broad and belligerent.

I'm not a hugging/holding hands peacenik type, to use a very old-old school phrase. I do seek to avoid politics becoming violent because then you have warfare, not constructive competition of concepts.

I'm just not into domestic terrorism in the name of fill-in-the-blank 'ism' either. Widespread destruction is wrong on its own merits. It also always harms those who can least afford lost resources.
Where interests intersect, I find common cause with open minds across ideologies.

Regardless of belief and perspective on politicians, we finders of common cause have to fight our fight largely unnoticed by office holders, donors and pollsters.

We don't spend time fighting each other.

Conversely, Republicans and Democrats are like scorpions fighting in a bottle.

I suggest grassroots folks keep their political views and keep out of that bottle battling each other.

After more safety and less inflation are achieved, then we'll have extra time and money to argue over political philosophy.

That's what I want for grassroots folks this presidential election cycle- and beyond.
