Where Were The "No Kings" Protesters During The Biden Administration?

It was encouraging to see that the “No Kings” protests appeared to be peaceful. After the rioting during the summer/fall of 2020, the firebombings of Tesla Dealerships, the Los Angeles anti-ICE riots, he rioting against Federal agents in places like Portland, this was something new. It was a bit disturbing to see a march at the National Mall in Washington DC led by a huge “Remove the Regime” sign, but at least it was peaceful. (Politico, Oct. 19, 2025)

My only real issue comes with the question of where these people were during the Biden Administration? Authoritarianism is the main complaint against Trump. It’s time for a reminder of the authoritarianism these protesters appeared to have supported just a couple of years ago.

First, a major “authoritarianism” complaint about Trump comes is the accusation he is trying to silence critics, particularly those in the media. Ironically, in terms of the protests there has been no effort by Trump to silence them. This is in comparison with Biden’s handling of anti-vaccine protests like the Trucker Freedom ride protests in Canada and the US, which the Administration effectively shut down (NY Post, Nov. 24, 2022).

The Trump Administration did nothing to stop the “No Kings” protest. With regards to silencing critics, the Biden Administration FBI and Homeland security constantly used coercive “monarchical” powers to censor and suppress conservative critics after taking office. Elon Musk purchased Twitter in November 2022 and showed that despite previous denials of the FBI and other Biden agencies, the administration demanded big tech censor and/or suppress conservative speech. From PBS: “In a letter to Rep. Jim Jordan, the Republican chair of the House Judiciary Committee, (Mark) Zuckerberg alleges that the officials, including those from the White House, repeatedly pressured; Facebook for months to take down ‘certain COVID-19 content including humor and satire.’ The officials “expressed a lot of frustration” when the company didn’t agree, he said in the letter. ‘I believe the government pressure was wrong and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it,’ Zuckerberg wrote in the letter dated Aug. 26, 2024 and posted on the committee’s Facebook page and to its account on X.” (PBS, Aug. 27, 2024)

Biden administration's pervasive censorship and suppression of conservatives

Beyond the pervasive censorship and suppression of conservatives, the Biden Administration created numerous COVID vaccine mandates through Executive Orders. These COVID related orders arguably constituted the greatest threat to liberty of Americans in modern history. Many of the mandates were later found to be unconstitutional overreach but effectively destroyed the lives of several Americans. For example, In January 2022, “the Supreme Court blocked an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rule that required businesses with 100 or more employees to mandate vaccination or weekly testing. The court ruled that OSHA had exceeded its authority. (BBC, Jan.13, 2022)

“A federal judge in Florida struck down the mask mandate for airplanes and public transit in April 2022. The court ruled that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had exceeded its authority.” (Government Executive, Dec. 11, 2023)

The COVID-19 vaccine requirement for U.S. service members went on until January 2023 before finally being lifted. The list goes on, but it was only through the refusal of the majority of Americans to follow these “monarchical” rulings that they stopped.

In addition to censorship and authoritarian, unconstitutional mandates against private and public citizens, the Biden Administration used the awesome Federal powers for lawfare and harassment of political opponents. For example, Tulsi Gabbard was secretly placed on a terror watch program under TSA called “Quiet Skies” and was followed and screened throughout her travels as a private citizen (Tim Burchett, Aug. 8, 2024)

The Democrat Party’s monarchical behavior went beyond Joe Biden’s actions in office

The Department of Justice assigned Jack Smith as a Special Prosecutor against Joe Biden’s political opponent, candidate Trump, and Smith gained access to the cell phone data of Biden political opponents in Congress. As the Senate Judiciary Committee put it: “Biden FBI spied on eight Republican Senators as Part of Arctic Frost Investigation” (Senate Judiciary, Oct. 6, 2025)

All of America already knows of Biden’s lawfare and weaponization of “Justice” against his main political opponent, Donald Trump. This was clearly to force Trump out of the race, and Biden had been intimately involved in the Russian Collusion Hoax against Trump previously. Lastly, Biden’s abuse of the pardon power for virtually all his family and friends, who had milked his positions of power for money for many years, was something that would make a real tyrant blush.

The Democrat Party’s monarchical behavior went beyond Joe Biden’s actions in office. Vice President Kamala Harris was “coronated” as the Democratic Presidential nominee without a primary for the first time in history. She received Biden’s endorsement and the Democratic elite fell in line. Democrat voters be damned. In contrast, Donald Trump had to fight through Biden lawfare and a string of tough opponents to win his nomination. He then went on to win every swing state, a landslide in the Electoral College, and the popular vote. No question he earned the title of President. No way, shape, or form an unelected King.

Those attending the “No Kings” rallies are free to do so under Trump, but it’s a shame they didn’t find the courage to do so when it was needed. In America we do have one King, Jesus and "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he has chosen as his own inheritance". Psalm 33:12
