Why Judas Was a Socialist

Socialism was derived from the French Revolution, whereas Judas Iscariot, treasurer for the 12 Apostles died 2,000 years ago. So how can we possibly claim the famously despicable Judas was a socialist? We do so by anachronistic virtue of common attributes as opposed to just the calendar. After all, social gadabout Peter Hitchens calls Judas the First Socialist. But typical characteristics of Socialists includes claiming: Being Materialistic as Opposed to Spiritual, Wealth Owned by State, Self-righteous, Angry, Dishonest, Pretends to Care for Poor, Rejects Human Rights, Indifferent to Murder, Greedy, Rejects God.

And what is Socialism? Investopedia defines: “A system in which the public, rather than private individuals, owns or controls major industries and resources. ”

JUDAS: CHARACTER & METHODS

So let’s describe Judas Iscariot, last chosen apostle:

Judas Iscariot was one of 12 apostles of Jesus Christ. He infamously betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, leading to the crucifixion. Today, the name “Judas” is synonymous with “traitor.” Among the disciples, Judas was official treasurer, gaining by pilfering petty cash from their purse. But his grand move was selling access to Jesus, identifying Him by a dastardly kiss (Luke 22:47–48). Later devastated by guilt, Judas tried to return the reward money. Matthew states he then hung himself, after throwing away the silver, not long after betraying Jesus.

Now, consider scripture revealing Judas’ character and methods:

In John 12:4–6, Judas Iscariot complains about expensive perfume being wasted on Jesus, instead of being sold to help the poor, though the author describes his true motive was greed. 4 "But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, 5 “Why wasn't this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year's wages. 6 "He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.”

This first example reveals the typical grandiose and angry Socialist demand that all wealth be regarded as a group asset, ultimately owed to the poor. Yet, one person’s private funds belonging to a friend of Jesus, which Judas had no right to control, he angrily sought to take. So, second -- one sees presumptuous Judas pretending to own another’s private property by moral right, which must then be lavished on the poor. And third, the secret motivation of Judas is self-gain via theft and personal power, not compassion for the impoverished.

Now, in history, no Socialists ever took the private property of the wealthy, then simply handed it over to the destitute. Such funds were instead reallocated to the government in the name of The People. Meanwhile, Socialists typically amassed huge wealth and grandiose dwellings, while the poor continued to languish.

See Fidel Castro (Cuba), amassed almost a Billion (2006 Forbes assessment). While Cubans endured strict state rationing and severe economic poverty, Castro maintained a web of state-funded privileges. Former insiders and bodyguards exposed that he possessed private islands, a fleet of luxury yachts, and dozens of heavily guarded, secret primary residences across the country. He held absolute control over a network of state-owned enterprises, effectively blurring the line between state assets and personal funds.

Instead, systemic corruption diverted immense wealth to his cadre and family while Venezuela's general economy collapsed into hyperinflation and widespread poverty. Daughter, María Gabriela Chávez, gathered a perhaps $4 billion, making her one of Venezuela's wealthiest individuals.

Not Sympathy, But Hatred of Poor

Judas pretended to want wealth for the destitute while motivated to steal it for himself. In other words, Judas the hypocrite hated the poor, just like Marxist writers Karl Marx and partner Friedrich Engels:

While Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels dedicated their lives to emancipation of the working class (the proletariat), they hated the lowest segment of the poor, who they called Lumpenproletariat (literally "rag-proletariat"). Such "Social Scum", an underclass of chronically unemployed, homeless, and declassed individuals were "the social scum, that passively rotting mass thrown off by the lowest layers of the old society."

Rejection of Human Rights by Socialists

When Judas betrayed Jesus for money, he rejected Christ’s rights to not be kidnapped, given a show trial, or have his life taken for state power based on fake charges. But Socialists always pretend the State has the only rights, and therefore may oppress any humans to the point of death.

Murder by Marxists

Judas made capture and murder of Jesus easy by cooperating with his murderers, he didn’t care that Jesus was Innocent.

Socialism creates permanent tyranny

Totalitarianism is the ideology of absolute power. The worst of the totalitarian governments, however, by far have been the socialists. Socialist self-righteousness, desire to radically reconstruct the fundamental institution of society (throwing out the institutional evolution and cultural learning of generations), the belief that those who disagree are evil, and that one must "break eggs to make an omelet," have led to monumental democide, as for example by the Soviet Union (about 61 million murdered), Mao's China (about 35 million), and so on for all the communist regimes, as well as the nationalist socialists like Germany (21 million), state socialist like Burma, Baathists like Syria and Hussein's Iraq, socialist Libya, and so on. From 1900-1987, totalitarian regimes murdered about 138 million (communist regimes about 110 million out of 169 million overall governments. Judas & Marxists Hate God

God is an illusion according to Marx, and so they embrace Satan: If Judas knew Christ was God, he would not have helped kill Him. Judas rejected God. Likewise, Marx hated God and called religion a drug. Marx wrote this in 1843: "Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world... It is the opium of the people.”

“The story of socialism began in the French revolution. The rights it first proclaimed—”liberty, property, security”—closely resembled the American triad of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” However, soon a fourth was added—equality. To be sure, the Americans had proclaimed that men were “created equal,” but the French innovation was to include “equality” among the mandatory pursuits of government. “Equality” was no longer simply a moral value which needed to be asserted but a condition of life which needed to be fostered…into a fighting creed.

The “equals” advocated a system “depriving every individual of the hope of ever becoming either richer, or more powerful, or more outstanding through his learning, than any [other].” They recognized that this would not be easy to achieve. “The sole means,” they said, would be “to abolish private property; to have each man . . . deposit the fruit [of his labor] in a common storehouse; and to set up a simple distributing agency, . . . which . . . will allocate the [goods] with the most scrupulous equality.”

So, Socialism has always existed in the hearts of man, and was born a cripple. Judas -- Worst Man in History was an early proponent. And we still must battle socialism and should all pray for God’s help in its eventual destruction.
