Vetoes Sink Latest UN Security Council Resolution on Syrian Chemical Weapons

The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons-UN Joint Investigative Mechanism (JIM), which was established in August 2015 under a unanimously approved Security Council resolution, was assigned the responsibility to determine who was responsible for a series of chemical attacks since 2013 that killed Syrian civilians. The independent expert panel concluded that there was sufficient evidence to determine that the Syrian government had used chemical weapons on three separate occasions from 2014 to 2015, while ISIS had used them at least once. With that conclusion in hand, the United States, United Kingdom and France introduced a draft resolution on February 28th imposing sanctions under Chapter VII of the UN Charter on Syrian government officials and entities linked to the chemical weapons attacks; placing an embargo on arms sales and chemicals intended to be used as weapons; and establishing a sanctions committee and panel of experts to monitor the implementation of these measures. Russia and China vetoed the draft resolution, which blocked its adoption. Bolivia also voted no. Nine Security Council members voted yes, and three abstained.

Democrat Rep. bringing illegal to Trump’s speech explains his desire to perpetuate an underpaid serf

Earlier today, I discussed Democrat plans to make illegal immigrants their guests at tonight’s Donald Trump’s kinda-sorta State of the Union address.  It’s a stupid move, one that’s almost guaranteed to backfire and, if Republicans are smart, they’ll use it to their advantage.  Dems can’t see that. It appears that they haven’t yet learned their identity-politics lesson, so they’re going to go through with the plan.

Andrew Breitbart, Controversial as Ever Five Years After his Death

Wednesday, March 1 marks the fifth anniversary of the death of conservative icon Andrew Breitbart. We think it is important to remember his legacy, as his name is heard often these days, and his influence looms large. For those not familiar with him, Andrew was a larger than life character who figured in the establishment of several prominent media institutions that play significant roles in today’s journalistic landscape. He was first associated with the Drudge Report, famous for scooping Newsweek on its Monica Lewinsky story; The Huffington Post, the very popular leftwing blog; and Breitbart News, from which came the left’s chief bogeyman, and Donald Trump’s chief strategist, Stephen K. Bannon.

Five years after his untimely death, we at Accuracy in Media want to remind people who Breitbart was, and why he is so influential in an age of so much fake news by the mainstream media. AIM presented Andrew with the Reed Irvine Award for Excellence in Journalism in 2010, and he gave an historic speech before a packed room that called out the media for its dishonesty.

ITIN: The Massive Tax Loophole Allowing Illegal Aliens to Defraud American Citizens

In 1996, the IRS began issuing a new type of tax identification number, the Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN). ITINs are assigned to U.S. taxpayers, predominately illegal aliens and their dependents, who are not eligible to obtain a Social Security number.  The primary purpose of ITIN’s was to capture the previously untapped source of new federal tax revenue from undocumented workers.

  • According to the National Immigration Law Center, the most recent information (August 2012) indicated that there had been 21 million ITINs assigned to taxpayers and their dependents by the IRS.
  • ITINs assigned to illegal alien dependents from Mexico do NOT have to prove that they have ever set foot in the U.S., let alone that they are in the U.S. at the time of application.
  • Over 9 years and up to 2010, the IRS paid over $14.2 billion of American tax dollars in refunds to illegal aliens, for alleged dependents from whom no identification or residency documents were obtained, and from whom they received $0 in tax revenue.

Prayer far more powerful than Hocus Pocus

The progressive left had an unholy cow when First Lady Melania Trump opened her husband’s rally in Melbourne, Florida the weekend before last with the Lord’s Prayer.

“Leftists on social media tore into First Lady Melania Trump, mocking her accent and religion and branding her everything from a hostage to a # – all for the secular offense of reciting “The Lord’s Prayer.” (Fox News, Feb. 19, 2017)

Like a snowflake only dumber: American Bar Association President Linda Klein doesn’t get it on

American Bar Association President Linda A. Klein recently lashed out at President Trump because Trump dared to criticize a Seattle judge who blocked his immigration order.

“Make no mistake,” Klein fumed, “personal attacks on judges are attacks on our Constitution.”

Oh are they now?  Judges are magically transparent standard bearers of constitutional DNA?  Judges cease being political creatures the moment they don the robe, and therefore, they must be kowtowed to in prostrate-position silence?

Vietnamese-American lawmaker silenced for telling the truth about traitor Tom Hayden

BombThrowers:  A California lawmaker who fled Communist Vietnam as a child decided to tell the truth about the late former state senator Tom Hayden and his treasonable behavior during the Vietnam War.

Hayden died Oct. 23 at 76 after a lifetime of seditious, anti-American behavior, including collaborating with America’s enemies during wartime.

California state senator Janet Nguyen’s (R-Garden Grove) attempt to speak truth to power was cut short by Hayden’s allies in the Democrat-dominated California legislature who objected to her setting the record straight about Hayden.

Nguyen was promptly ruled out of order but she continued to speak and was removed by the State Senate’s Sergeant-at-Arms. (Video here.)

In advance of tonight’s health care speech, Trump asks insurers to help achieve a smooth transition

Tonight’s address to Congress will be the first of the Trump presidency, and it will be heavy on policy matters - especially as it relates to what’s coming next following the imminent repeal of ObamaCare. To help lay the groundwork for that, Trump met yesterday with many of the insurers who’ve been losing their shirts on ObamaCare exchanges and asked them to get on board and help ensure a smooth transition:

Trump told the insurers that his changes would include expanded healthcare savings accounts, which are tax-free savings accounts typically used with high-deductible insurance plans, and the sale of health plans across state lines. He also said that he wanted states to have more flexibility but did not provide details.

George W. Bush says stuff about media and immigration that agrees completely with what Trump says

You’ve probably seen headlines over the course of the past day claiming that George W. Bush went on The Today Show yesterday and slammed President Trump.

He didn’t.

You can watch the video of the entire interview right here if you don’t believe me, but we need to talk about the way some of Bush’s answers are being portrayed. First, go ahead and watch: (Video Pulled—This is now the NBC Video)

We are supposed believe that it is possible to guaranty that 200,000,000 votes are safe from hacking when the DNC isn’t confident about security 447 votes. Nope, they voted by paper ballot to make sure there
was a way to verify the voters ID (there’s a novel idea) and to insure there was no hacking (really). The take away here?

The American people are being deceived at every turn. Our elections are not secure as evidenced by the DNC’s own admission.

Voter ID is good enough for the Democratic party it is good enough for the American people. The same is true of verifiable paper ballots. I would recommend studying Dictatorship and Authoritarian form of government. They are beginning to look like our new reality, unless Pres. Trump can fix things.

PolitiFact admits Trump is right about reducing debt . . . then goes ahead and calls him a liar anyw

Hat tip to Alex Pfeiffer at Daily Caller on this one.

How exactly do media “fact checkers” confirm that a statement made by the president is factually accurate, then turn around and label it “mostly false”? I’ll tell you how. Because media “fact checkers” are not really fact checkers. They’re opinion writers hiding behind a label that makes them sound unbiased. And what they actually do is not check the accuracy of facts, but opine about what the facts supposedly mean. That’s a perfectly legitimate thing to do if you’re going to label yourself as an opinion writer.

Dems plan to bring illegal immigrants to tonight’s speech. ...Trump should bring immigration office

Back in 2008, Barack Obama famously said: “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.”

It was a mantra of escalation that would serve him well for the next eight years.  His “achievements” may be collapsing or headed for repeal but, on balance, he got what he wanted by playing a smarter, meaner, and tougher game than his opponents.  Last week we learned that Democrats intend to employ his strategies - en masse - for the entirety of President Trump’s tenure.

Angry liberals can’t handle truth, shut down my speech

I spoke to the Southern California Junior State of America, or JSA, winter congress this weekend – to a group of about 860 high-schoolers, supposedly 60 to 70 percent liberal.

I’ve never seen a better-looking group of young people: The boys wore suits and ties, and the girls wore dresses and heels. (Some wore pantsuits.)

My talk followed a liberal California state assemblyman’s speech. I was scheduled for an hour, consisting of a 25- to 45-minute speech followed by Q&A – but I was thrown out before the 25-minute mark.

Trump Should “Drain the Swamp” at the FBI Before Terror Strikes Again

Bill Gates was recently quoted as saying that bioterrorism could kill more people than nuclear war, but that Western governments are not ready to deal with it. The situation may be worse than he thinks. What stories about his remarks at the Munich Security Conference did not explain is that the FBI has still failed to resolve the question of who carried out the post-9/11 anthrax attacks on America.

Some of the evidence points to al Qaeda, and there are reports that other Islamic terrorist groups, such as ISIS, are now developing biological weapons.

For his part, President Donald Trump is currently engaged in a feud with the FBI over “illegal leaks” that he wants investigated and stopped.

Many years and a few lifetimes ago, I received Presidential appointments to serve in the federal government. It was an experience I will never forget and I was honored to serve.

It was an eye-opening experience in how our Washington government actually works, or doesn’t work as the case may be.

Pretend journalist, Jorge Ramos, says illegals who commit identity theft do so to ‘benefit our lives

No doubt you remember Jorge Ramos - the perpetually outraged, virtue-signaling, illegal immigration activist who pretends to be a journalist - from that time President Trump had him thrown out of a press conference.  After it happened, Ramos enjoyed a few extra minutes of fame, made the anti-Trump media rounds, then faded back to his previous level of mid-range notoriety. Unfortunately, with the illegal immigration issue still front-and-center, Ramos rears his head every so often.

His responses are predictable in the extreme:  Illegal immigrants are wonderful. As long as they’re non-violent their myriad crimes are no big deal, and the U.S. should have something close to an open-border policy regarding Mexico.

‘Twas Kellyanne who shattered Hil’s ‘glass ceiling’

All through this past presidential election, Hillary Clinton strutted up and down the public street with her little tin drum boasting how she would be ‘THE Woman’ who would break the big glass ceiling of politics by becoming the first female to sit in the Oval Office. She even went so far as to rent the massive, glass Jacob K. Javits Convention Center for that symbolic moment when she captured the electoral college. The ominous harbinger of defeat reared its ugly head when her campaign suddenly cancelled its purchase of a massive, celebratory fireworks display, (President-Elect Trump’s supporters later joked that the astute businessman scooped it up for ten cents on the dollar for his Inaugural Concert!). The election battle raged on into the night, but in the early hours of the morning of November 9th, it became apparent that her hopes were dashed. Hillary’s touted glass ceiling came crashing down around her, smashed by a woman who did not even run for president, but succeeded beyond all measure in her profession, and went mostly unreported by the liberally-biased mainstream media.

If Iran readies nuclear missiles for launch, Israel must take it out

WASHINGTON, D.C. — On January 29, Iran conducted its tenth ballistic missile test since the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the July 2015 landmark nuclear deal.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif rebuffed accusations that the launches were a violation and declared that Iran would “never depend on the permission of anyone else for their self-defense.”
