Speaking truth to power isn't allowed in Sacramento

Vietnamese-American lawmaker silenced for telling the truth about traitor Tom Hayden

-- BombThrowers: A California lawmaker who fled Communist Vietnam as a child decided to tell the truth about the late former state senator Tom Hayden and his treasonable behavior during the Vietnam War. Hayden died Oct. 23 at 76 after a lifetime of seditious, anti-American behavior, including collaborating with America's enemies during wartime. California state senator Janet Nguyen's (R-Garden Grove) attempt to speak truth to power was cut short by Hayden's allies in the Democrat-dominated California legislature who objected to her setting the record straight about Hayden. Nguyen was promptly ruled out of order but she continued to speak and was removed by the State Senate's Sergeant-at-Arms. (Video here.)
Nguyen released a statement about Hayden and getting the boot:
Today, in a clear violation of my first amendment rights, I was silenced and forcibly removed from the Senate Floor during an adjournment in memory of Vietnamese and Vietnamese refugees which also offered another historic perspective on Former Senator Tom Hayden’s active support of North Vietnam’s Communist Regime during the Vietnam War. I was especially perplexed by the actions taken against me because I notified the Senate Pro Tem’s office of my desire to speak on this subject matter and followed protocol. Out of respect for former Senator Hayden’s family, I also chose to wait to make my comments today rather than on the day they were present earlier this week. Nevertheless, the Senate leadership chose to censor me. My family came to this country in search of the very freedom that was taken away from me this morning. I am deeply disappointed with Senate leadership’s actions because more than an act against me, Senate leadership silenced the voice of the residents of the 34th District, the more than 960,000 residents that I represent, whose freedoms of speech should never be silenced.

California State Sen. Janet Nguyen Removed From Senate Floor for Voicing Differing Opinion

California State Sen. Janet Nguyen (R-Garden Grove), was forcibly removed from the Senate Thursday morning for offering a different perspective on the late Sen. Tom Hayden, a Democrat with a well-known and lengthy history of communist sympathies. The perspective Sen. Nguyen offers is first hand. Her family escaped communist Vietnam and came to the United States in search of freedom in 1981 during Ronald Reagan’s presidency.
