If the upcoming presidential election on November 3, 2020, were not so serious, it would be downright hilarious just watching the Democrats twist themselves into pretzels in their efforts to project onto President Trump their own lengthy and shameful record of racism. As Bill Federer of AmericanMinute.com has exhaustively documented:

• In 1857, the Supreme Court, with seven of the nine justices being Democrats, decided that Dred Scott, a black slave, was not a citizen, but property. 
• After the Civil War, when Republicans enacted the 13th Amendment abolishing slavery in America, southern Democrats reacted by creating the vicious anti-black Jim Crow laws.
• In 1866, Republican Rep. Thaddeus Stevens introduced legislation to give former slaves "40 acres and a mule," but Democrats opposed it.

Death by killing old people, not COVID—-the basic deception

The New York Times (June 27) is reporting that 43 percent of all US COVID deaths are occurring in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities for the elderly. In at least 24 states, more than 50 percent of all COVID deaths are occurring in these facilities. The Times fails to mention deaths of the elderly at hospitals or, at home, cut off from family and friends. The situation is far worse than the Times makes it out to be. BLM Protest in Colonial Williamsburg

On Tuesday morning, June 30, we were visiting Colonial Williamsburg in Williamsburg, Va. We were inside the Governor’s Palace when we spotted 6 police cruisers and heavy police presence, including the park’s security. I found it odd since the park has only been opened for a week and there were few visitors with only about ten percent of the buildings open for historical tours. The atmosphere was hardly cheerful as everyone was wearing masks and visitors were required masks inside and in outdoor exhibits such as the armory, the gardens, the weaver’s outdoor shop, the blacksmith, and the barrel maker. The temperatures in the 90s yesterday made wearing the masks quite unbearable.

America has been on fire in the past month and it has not because of June heat. The fires across the nation have been ostensibly instigated in protest over the murder of George Floyd. Yet, the actual peaceful protests over the murder of George Floyd ended long ago. What has morphed from the legitimate protests over Floyd's murder is a very different creature. Violent rioting  that has been prolonged over a widespread area is not representative of spontaneous demonstrations of anger over police brutality. It bears no resemblance to genuine concerns of American citizens regarding the killing of a Black man at the hands of a White police officer.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Supreme Court released a plurality 4-1-4 opinion siding with the lower District Court that struck down the Louisiana state law known as the “Unsafe Abortion Protection Act,” which requires doctors performing abortions to have admission privileges at a state-authorized hospital within 30 miles of the abortion center. All doctors in Louisiana at outpatient surgical facilities, except abortion centers, must have admitting privileges at a local hospital. Four Justices (Breyer, Ginsburg, Sotomayor, and Kagan) concluded that the state was barred from raising standing because they did not press that argument in the lower courts (even though the Court of Appeals ruled on standing), and that the findings of the lower District Court were not “clearly erroneous.”
