Corruption with a Capital C

In my recent CFP article Tyranny, I made one point I would like to expand on. Corrupt King Joe Biden in his own twisted thinking declared that all American taxpayers should assume the responsibility of “bailing out” that the millionaires and billionaires who irresponsibly deposited more money than was insurable by FDIC in the two recently failed banks.

FDIC will insure up to $250,000 per depositor per bank. All funds deposited above that limit in any given institution, are at risk. It isn’t complicated math. At one point in my life I actually had more than $250,000 to deposit in banking institutions. I made sure that all of my eggs were not in one basket because I could not afford to lose any of those eggs.

Musical Perfection: Dimitri Tiomkin

Dimitri Tiomkin was born in Tsarist Russia in 1894. He trained in classical music in St. Petersburg before the revolution, then moved to Berlin in the 1920s. Shortly thereafter, he moved to the United States and then to Hollywood after the crash of 1929. Director Frank Capra asked him to write the score for the film Lost Horizon in 1937. This was his big break into composing for movies.

Doing justice to Dimitri Tiomkin’s music in just one column would be impossible, so this time I will mention and list a few of his works. Some of them you will find familiar, but others may be new to you. We know him best from film scores from the 1940s through the 1960s.

Sen. Ted Cruz blasts Mayorkas: “If you had integrity, you would resign. You’re willing to let children be raped. This is a crisis. It’s a disgrace.”

Exchange between Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and DHS Secretary Mayorkas: "Let me show you how someone doing his job answers a question in a straightforward manner...Answer, yes. 1 word. 1 syllable. 3 letters. That's how someone answers a question & does their job. You're being a politician misleading the American people."

Former GG Johnston’s Close Relationship with China

Much recent commentary about Johnston’s selection by Trudeau as a special rapporteur to review Chinese interference in Canadian elections, has dealt with Johnston’s close relationship with Prime Minister Trudeau. Little mention has been made of Johnston’s close personal relationship, over many years, with communist China.

  • In 1980 Johnston prepared the ground work for the Canada – China University exchange program. The Liberal government subsequently was obliged to set strict guidelines for this program because of the theft of Canadian technology by exchange students. Despite these guidelines, Canadian universities and also Canadian corporations are continuing to work with Chinese graduate students and Chinese experts to develop intelligence technology, useful for China. Understandably, Canada was excluded in March 2023 from the military pact involving Australia, the UK and the US (referred to as AUKUS). This pact has excluded Canada because of uncertainty caused by its close association with China.
