ORLANDO, FL – A recent report from the pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) shows that 1,129,020 abortions occurred within the formal U.S. health care system in 2025, an increase from 1,108,810 in 2024. The rising number of abortions marks a steady annual increase since the 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision in which the U.S. Supreme Court overruled both Roe v. Wade (1973) and Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992), overturning a perceived national “right” to an abortion and returned the issue back to the states.
